I think my clones are dying!

Hey all. I just took a couple of cuttings from my Powerkush, last night. Here's the mother...

This my first time taking cuttings, and i thought I did everything right.

I made my cuts at a 45 degree angle, between the 4th and 5th node. Immediately dipped them in Clonex, stuck them in rockwool, & set them on an inch thick bed of perlite. My lighting currently sucks. I got a small cfl in a lamp, next to two 4-foot fluorescents. My 4-footers are 1 warm white, 1 cool white. Tomorrow, I've got to go to Wal-Mart and get some chains to hang my other 4-foot lamp. I'm supposed to have FOUR 4-footers.
Anyways, here's the pics...

I get up this morning, and this is what I see...

Thank you to any who take the time to help. I think I'm coming along pretty well as a gardener, and I'd really like to know what's wrong. Even if they die, I need to know what I did wrong(if anything) because the only way Im gonna' get to be the gardener i want to be, is to be criticized when I fuck somethin' up. So please be critical. I still have them under the hood, and I wet them every couple of hours.

+rep for all help received...

Hmmmm... It looks like you did everything right... Maybe its too warm? or too cold???

Ive had clones do the same thing and they snapped out of it a day or two later...

Please fill me in on the details.

Lookes like you have invested. The way I do it is put the dome back together.Don't leave so much air open.None acually works. And I would take the wrap off your cubes.Roots love to grow outwards on sides and they are blocked.

Sure thing, CG. And thank you for taking the time, btw...

Got them in a small closet in my bedroom. None of the walls are exterior walls, so the temp stays stable. Got a fan sitting at the other end of the closet keeping the air moving in there. Temp stays at about 70-75.(The fan helps with that) And like I said, I wet them every couple of hours by foliar spraying, and spraying the inside of the hood.

Can you water too much after cloning?

Is it because I still haven't gotten my other 4-foot lamp up? Spectrum too low?

A guess from you, is better than a stab in the dark from me, brah. I'm trying to get my lady to get her lazy ass around, so we can go to town to get the chains for my light. Right now, I've got it standing against the wall, turned on.

It's now been done. Thanx, friend.

Hopefully it helps.:peace:

Ok, I would suggest you not to spray your clones so much.

Leave them be for a spell.

The droop may be from excessive spraying.

I think the water is weighing em down.

If you have any Superthrive, put a drop or two in your sprayer, and only lightly spray once a day, and thats it.

I believe they'll come around in time. :)

well there is a couple things i do when i clone and im by far no expert this is actually my first grow but i have successfully over 20 cuttings 16 rooted...when i first make the cut i cut from the stem...I then put it in water and finish getting the cuttings from that plant...i then trim all leaves except the 2 main leaves closet to the top...then make your 45 degree cut right below the first node dip in root gel then rapid rooters they go...repeat till i have all my cuttings then give them diluted flower nutes in the tray and foilar feed them also...put the dome on and spray twice a day for 2-3 days then remove the dome also making sure i have a mix of superthrive and water in the tray at all times...so far every time i have taken clones i begin to see roots around the 5 day mark but by a week and a half there all rooted...

Oh i use a heating pad also...

Thanx, bratha'. Not near as much water. Check.

Try to give them 6 hour darkness after u cut tthem. It stops rhe trasperation causing wiltness. Also cut the big fans in half so its less weight on them

I trimmed the leaves to relieve some of the weight, after the first set of pics were taken.
However, they did get about another 4 or 5 hours of light before the lights went out for the night.(18/6)

Thanx for the help, man.

Not sure there's anything else to be done...

Anyone wanna' comment on their chances of one of them pulling through? I mean, if they die, they die. I've still got the mother plant, and she's a LONG WAY from dying. Just curious how many think one of them'll pull through.

Took it between the 4th and 5th node, of the healthiest two branches on the plant. Should it be smaller? The Jorge videos, he took his between the 4th and 5th. Should it have been smaller?

Whenever i have taken cuttings...or seen people take cuttings...there aren't as many leaves...the more leaves and foliage...the less energy that is going into producing the roots.

It's prolly too late to cut them again, now. All that will serve to do, is to further stress them, I think. I will definitely remember that, next time I cut.

What do you think the chances of one of them living are?

Personally, I think they'll survive...

Give em time... ;)

leave only the small shoots and one or two shade leaves.. the plant transpires all the stored water and nutrients through the leaf surface and dries up.. keep the humidity at 90% and the temps at 80
