I want them Bigger. Should i cut?

I have transplanted my plants a week ago now. They are in 5 Gal rounds with the Ocean Forest potting soil. I am using a nutrient now. I cant remember the name but it is in a white rectangular bottle and is called Micro and is 4-0-0. I Just watered that plants with this yesterday and i think i will water them with it once or twice a week and my other waterings with just regular water. Does this sound right? I would like the plants to become bigger either tall or bushy. I feel that the are really small.
One of the plants has the tips of the lower leaves turning yellow. The upper leaves(tips) of this same plant have started to curl down. Is that to be expected with the way i am watering. I water them with normal water and then wait for the soil to dry and then water them with the nutrient i have and wait for the soil to dry and us regular water again.
Please look at the pictures and let me know.

Whats your light system bud? How long are you going to veg for? And w/5 gallon pots you could make her very big. You are going to have to get serious about what kind of nutes you use. Do you mind telling me your budget so I could make some recommendations?

We just recently invested in a 250W HPS light. The plants were in little tiny pots prior to the transplant and believe it or not we started these plants at the end of April. I know thats a late to be starting but thats ok with us. It is our first time and we did not know what to expect with time lines on things so the grow is taking place in our bathroom. We have a few fans going to keep the air fresh and circulating. Our budget isn't really set. I mean we have money to play with but at the same time because this is our first grow and we will be moving in a year we dont want to spend a fortune at the same time. And when i say moving i really mean a big move. Now we are in NM and next summer we are relocating to Hawaii so i would like to purchase items at a min because most likely they will not move with us.

Thats great info bud,

1. a 250w hps will kick ass for you, Im so happy your not trying to flower w/cfls. A 250 is perfect for a couple plants. you should be able to keep your light 2-3 feet from ur plants w/ a fan blowing.

2. Have you switched to 12/12 yet to induce flowering? concidering your space I would do so now.

3. All I want you to buy are 4 products/ there all made by advanced nutes/ Carbo load / B-52 / Bigbud / Rivive. all four together will run you about 145-170 dollars u.s./ the directions are very simple they all can mix together and they are ph balanced for your soil. The Revive alone will fix any damage you may cause from a beginner mistake.

4. I was stationed at Schofield brks HI when I was in the army, so I wish I was moving w/you lol.

My guess is that you're skimping on the watering, judging by the soil being wet towards the center, and dry around the edges. That's a no-no, and will guarantee slow growth, if the edges never get wet. Your light is plenty intense enough to stimulate good growth, which is why I'm sticking with the watering issue. :)

Also, they won't need any nuted for a loooooong time, at least until they are as tall as your pots, and as wide. Especially, with OF soil, it's pretty rich stuff.

Are those items all liquids that i can mix in the water for when i water them? or was this something i needed to do when i was putting the soil in the pot? Im unsure of how much water to use. When i watered them this last time with the Micro in the water i used a little over a gallon in total for all three. I thought the water was going to go over the pot so that is when i stopped but i do see that the edges are dry.
