Very nice, long summers, beautiful beaches, a couple of months of winter but nothing like here. I moved here when I was 9 and had never seen snow. I still have my citizenship and can move back there anytime, they never revoke your citizenship if you were born there. If Trudeau fucks up that's where I'm retiring. Only issue is it's like a 16 - 20 hr. expensive flight. If I didn't have grandkids here I'd already be retired there. Things are Ok right now but they're still sorting out some issues and a new government just came into power that aren't as MJ friendly as the president who implemented this program. My parents originally moved here to get away from the corruption and violence, mainly perpetuated by the government or opposition (tupamaros - urban guerillas) at the time. Today it's a lot more stable and none of that nonsense going on but they tend to have huge swings politically, a few years back they elected the communist party! Language is Spanish, ~3.5M people, they've produced some great soccer players, and now they're famous for the first country to fully legalize MJ :) Muy bueno ;)

I appreciate your comments. Quick question if I may - how do they treat international travelers? I have seen all the positive tourist propaganda of course, but it doesn't really speak to the attitude and sentiment of the people. Can you help me out there?

Very friendly people and appreciative of foreign money/visitors, great food. You stay away from slum areas in the big cities like Montevideo (no different than anywhere else) but for the most part they're easy going/friendly. Probably more so now with the MJ laws opened up - lol

There is one catch with their MJ program, it's not open/available to foreigners/visitors. Not that it would be difficult to score but it's not like you can walk into a dispensary and buy what you want either.

Very cool. Standard MJ mission parameters - hook in with the locals, and be cool. Like most countries I've been to.
