Idea for growing Cannabis

First off i want to say that I had an idea to grow Cannabis since i been in High school but of course i couldn't grow in high school because of my grandma and all. Now That i have my MMJ Card and i live in california i can legal grow 6 mature plants OR 12 immature plants AND 8 ounces of bud. I will grow in a closet in my room. I would like to keep my Electric bill as low as i can while growing good Cannabis.

So now that is out of the way i would like to present my idea of Growing

I would order 6 seeds from The Additude seed bank.

So i would Grow the 6 seeds in a dirt based grow
3 seeds will be mothers and the others will grow to be harvested
Since I want to stay legal I want to take clones but only after harvest

If you have a better idea please help me plan, please help me plan

look into organic growing its easy and fool proof, takes a bit more work but its dam near impossible to burn plants.

use a 600w HID lamp you electric bill is going to go up around 40 bucks a month running a 600w HID and a few fans.

get 8 seeds because chances are 1-2 wont make it and you will be left short handed, its easier to wheen out the runts if you get all 8 to go than it is to try and order more seeds to plant after the grow has started.

no need to keep 3 mothers, pick the plant with the most vigor and keep that as a mother, flower the rest.

cut 6-8 clones about 2 weeks before harvest. keep the best 5 plants to grow out and flower. this will keep you within your limit.

Im going to warn you that having a mother around for 5 clones every 3-4 months (typical time it takes to root a clone, veg it then flower it out. really isnt worth it), you may be better off just continuing to order more fem seeds. this will allow you to start more plants when you want without having to keep big bulky mothers and a second light setup going. it will also let you try more strains put if your into sampleing.

a mothe rplant is going to require 18/6 lighting even when your other plants are in flower 12/12. might not need lots of light and could probally get away with a cardboard box and a CFL but its extra shit lying around that isnt really needed, mother plants are more for perpetual grows that take cuts every 2 weeks and already have 2 different setups.

if ordering seeds every 4 months is not a otion for you then consider ordering them all in one shot, planting one seed and growing it out till you can get the desired amount of clones from it, get your clones and veg/flower everything in same tent. only downfall is you will have one plant thats a bit bigger than the rest (clones) for a while but you can counter this by giving it poor light for a while untill the others catch up.
