Im finding it difficult to tell when i should crop under LED, What you think?

Got some LSD from barnies seeds and went the 440w LED and 3x 150w cfl route.
Still the dwc buckets and Advanced nutes from start untill about 18days ago when I switched to plain water.

The damn things just dont seem to be drawing back from the leaves of finishing at all appart from amber trics and 1/2 red pistels.

When do you give em the old chop under LED as they dont seem to be fattening up either.

I chop at about 10% amber trichs but I like up/heady/cerebral instead of couch-lock

just had some finish early (earlier than I wanted) but had over 10% amber

think my smaller pot and lack of nutes helped it finish early (also have IR and UV on my led light too)

but since amber is the degradation of trichs (and potency) they kinda dictate the chop (at least for me)

Sometimes heat stress can keep the flowers from swelling and gaining density. Could also be a genetic trait. More information about what your temperature and humidity is like in the tent would help.

Can't seem to up load the Picture did you add the PK spikes ,Big Bud ,then Overdrive if feeding advanced ,If the strain says it's a 8 week strain you can normally add a few days to a week to that ,sometimes more .

Yea managed to up load I say it needs a while Longer,you will just be doing your self out of weight and getting the best from it if you chop it now.I still see,plenty of white hairs,now to me that really only matters if the grow has gone perfect ,because some strains ,the pistols change color early some late,give it a while longer .Looking good though enjoy

Based on what I see in the pic, I'd say you have a few weeks left. Continue on and see what she does.

For Some Reason Barnies seeds just aren't for me,I get good quality bud from there beans ,but never any decent weights .Same with DNA,Holy Grail ,my mate gets a lb of every grow with it I'm lucky to hit 6/7

Its not like that is unsmokeable, it would be perfectly fine to take now, but you will miss out on some of the flavors of full ripening and a few grams of weight.
Go in every morning, look at them, smell them, and follow your instincts.
The plants, just like microbes communicate in terpenes and we are perfectly good at understanding it.

Dude I all ways pick a bit of Pineapple Express at around 7 week ,The taste of it a week early is just moreish real sweet ,I would say a bit like Lemon Meringue.So I all ways pluck those little dense golf ball sized buds of ,for me a week early,even the Strawberry Glue ,was a nicer smoke a week early ,but I have a sweet tooth.

Looking at Plants under a LED ,they never look ready .Its when that lights turned of and you get some photos ,with your phone ,use the flash make sure it's in focus with the phone camera has near has possible.This will then let you see the color of the heads once you Exspand the picture.Its all I use ,and my phone is pretty old now.For real detail shots that I send the seed companies I use a cannon dslr,with a Macro Lens ,But the phone works ok.The last one I did under the LED ,the Blueberry Gum,just looked like it was no where near done till I took photos with lights out ,Saying that ,that strain did not want to finish .But the final product was un real.

Cheers guys,,
My temps are running 25c to 30c daytime
And 18c as a lights off minimum overnight with a humidty ranging from 40-55%

Ill grab some close in lights off shots today and make a call based on tric % amber I guess. Feels to me like 5 or 6 days to go but still barely any drawback signs on any leaves at all, just so confusing compared with previous grows.

I do have to say the yeild is a little smaller with the barnies farms seeds but fuck me,, The turps are intense,,, strong strong lemon pine smell definatly gets me stoked on strain selection
