I'm going out of town, can I leave my sprouts in the window?

I'm going out of town in several days, but I have 3 baby sprouts (first time grow!! and they sprouted today!!) Currently they are under 3 cfls (I'm ordering an HPS). If i leave them in the window they will get around 6-7 hours of light per day and leaving them outside is not possible....too cold. Will they die with that little light?

I might could leave my lights on... I just feel worried leaving them on for a week.

if the sprouts dont die they will have stretched so far they are falling over on themselves.....your best bet might just be to leave the lights on. I mean theres risk but how are you going to water them? seedlings need water and light and they will grow. If you leave for 7 days and they get 7 hours of light and no water they will most likely die

Ok, as for water, I plan on either leaving my pots (they have holes in the bottom) in a pan of water or putting a water globe inside of them. Apparently they water plants for upto 2 weeks. Which do yall think is better? My mom said I could leave the lights on. (Yeah, cool mom).

seedlings dont need much water dude....how long you gonna be gone

If i were you I would get some more seeds and start when you get back cause right from the get-go there gunna be messed up. Maybe not though.

Deffinatly get the light on, on my first grow for the whole vegging cycle i left my light on 24/0. My cfls were on for probably 4-5 weeks straight and nothing bad ever happened. ALTHOUGH THIS DOESN"T MEAN NOTHING IS GOING TO HAPPEN. But id sya fuck it leave em on. See if you best friend will water them for you while you are gone.
I used this method and it worked well, unless your best friend is a jackass.

Or you can look into making a drip system with a 2 liter coke bottle
poke wholes in the cap and flip it, fill with water and stick it in the dirt.

You have to experiment with the hole to make sure it doesn't just all drip out.

I've heard about a string method where you fill up an empty gallon jug with water and put one end of a string in it, and the other end of the string into the soil. The water then transfer to the dry soil? Think it will work? I'll be gone for 5 days. I can soak the plants which should last a good 3 I think.

you'll be cool for 5 days with an aqua globe no problem dude you might even be able to get away with not doing anything just soaking them real good but i wouldn't risk it. I have never tried an aqua globe but if it works like it says then that should be fine

jus leave the lights on, idk why you would start a grw then leave for the first week but good luck

If you're not worried about someone happening by and spying your plants as they sit in the window, why worry about leaving the lights on?
