I'm working on a tea recipe

I'm working on a tea recipe that will help me feel drowsy and fall asleep at a reasonable hour. I just harvested an auto Northern Light and have quite a bit of product to experiment with.. The buds are ok I suppose, not exactly the top shelf, rock hard buds I get at the collective.. I haven't finished curing them and haven't tried smoking them so I have no idea what the potency is..

I've been reading about teas. A few things jump out at me. 1) you have to have fat 2) It's probably a good idea to decarb. It seems that 1 tsp of ground bud = approx 1 gram which is the recommended dosage for teas, give or take.

I ground a big bud in my processor then decarbed at 250 degrees f for 15-20 minutes in the oven. From a study I read 30 minutes at 250 would just about completely convert the thca into thc, but in my mind thca has some inflammation and health qualities so I'll shoot for somewhere in the middle.

I boiled 2 cups of water and 1 cup of soy milk and 4 tsp of butter then added 3 tsp of decarbed bud. I will keep it on low heat for 40 minutes while I read and write this.

When it's done I'll divide the mixture into six doses. To one dose I'll add 1 ginger tea bag, 1 tsp turmeric, a dash of black pepper and some honey.

We'll see how this goes! Hopefully I end up somewhere between relaxed and slightly high :) Bottoms up.

I have one question about this.. Does hot water / boiling decarb MMJ? I am wondering if it's really necessary to decarb in the oven first. It may significantly reduce the time the tea needs to simmer. I would guess my concoction is maybe 150 degrees right now so at that temp it would take a very long time to decarb, I think..

Looking at this chart I should have maybe decarbed for an hour at 240..

Any suggestions are welcome.. My goal is just a relaxing tea that may have other health benefits.

Actually, why don't I just make cannabudder, keep it in the refrigerator and add a dab to a cup of ginger tea :)

I just poured a cup, it tastes awesome. My only concern is separation. I notice that the oils are all floating to the top of the 32 oz mason jar. I shook it very well to try to get a measured dose. Cannabutter would be easier to measure and insure a standard dosage. Nothing worse than being over medicated.. Well I guess there's worse, but you know what I mean :)

And the results are in... 40 minutes after drinking this awesome tasting drink I felt very sleepy. I fell asleep quickly once I turned out the lights. I am pretty sure I was over-medicated.. I had crazy dreams.. Next time I'll just take 1/2 of what I took last night which would be 3 ounces of the liquid added to a regular cup of tumeric tea.. I think I'll likely have to warm the liquid to room temp to get it to mix..
