In Canada, can you be evicted for one plant?

A friend of mine wants to grow a plant, primarily for fun. His girlfriend won't let him because she thinks everyone in the place will get evicted and get a criminal record if anyone (the cops) finds out. Can you really get evicted for just one plant? I could understand if you had a bunch, but one??

like he said, and i would be up to the landlord depending on how they found out.

So wouldn't the same go for possession? What if someone gets caught with an ounce or 2 in their home? I think there would be tonnes of evictions if this were the case, no?

Any illegal activity is grounds for eviction. Will it happen for one plant? Probably not.

Unless you guys are on the landlords shit list to begin with. If the guy's looking for a reason to get rid of you, then there you have it.

if its illegal then 1 or more is illegal. possession and manufacturing are 2 different things.

Growing for fun is the dumbest idea possible because it carries the same penallty as growing for profit, but when sizes are the same it's typically much more obvious.. What's smarter, a little stealthy grow box, or a plant in the window that likely won't yield shit for crap even if it doesn't herm out due to irratic light cycles??

Everybody could say they didnt know about it if its in one persons room, but I wouldnt risk a pissed, paranoid girlfriend and possibly other people in the house being sketchy and pissed too. Just my opinion. I am moving to my own place for just that reason.

In Ontario it's pretty hard to get evicted at all but one of the "catch all's" that allows for immediate eviction is "Performing illegal acts". So if you're a total douche and pay late and blast loud music, have pets and cockroaches I need to give you 60 days or more notice to kick you out. One tiny little plant and I can have you gone the very same day! Not worth it.

If you have less the 6 plants or less its a fine and not jailtime.. Im not sure if they would notify the landlord or not.. Smoking weed is illegal, and i've never heard of people being evicted for that.. I got busted with weed, just buds not plants, in my apartment when I was 17, and they didnt run and tell my landlord..

where are you in ontario that theres cockroaches? LOL

but as been said its all up to the landlord, and illegal plant would most likely get you evicted

This whole situation sounds like a recipe for disaster...annoyed girlfriends, other people that would know, all a real bad scene...
