Indoor computer grow

Hey so im somewhat new to growing, at least indoor. I have little room to work with, my first try is in a old computer. The tower under the monitor, I cleaned out everything and used tin foil as a reflectant. I am going to use cfl lighting and i have 2 of the computers fans for ventilation, but was wondering what the best grow medium would be for the plants? because i know soil will probably take up too much room and not allow me to get a decent sized plant. does anyone have any advice

i just started the same set up today. i went with soil just because of my experience using it, but i think the yeild will be low. i think that i you wanna max out yield you should go with a dwc. thats probably the only way to get massive 40gram plants in such a small spot. that being said i'm betting i can get anywhere from 19grams up to one ounce with soil(due to my experience). i think i would like to try a dwc with a neutral npk rating something 10-10-10 something like a organic tea. that way it can be used for both cycles and if you were doing autos (which i would suggest) you could start them at different times in case you get some males. hope this helps. and post a pic of your set up i would love to see it.

im not lloking to grow too much maybe an O (cause this is my first attempt i dont think i need to go big) but it sounds like dwc ca be very tough and you could potentially need a lot of space for all water and pumps. is there a good small setup for using dwc? I will post pics soon i just need to find my camera

let me first say if its your first grow be happy with a 8th. a dwc system would be the smallest way to go hydroponically, and a air pump doesn't take up much room. if you go soil get ready for a learning curb. most importantly if you want quality you buy quality
