4' x 2' x 5' tent
400 w DIMMABLE cool tube 6''
160 cfm 4" inline fan
LOOK AT PICCOOL.png

so I'm not growing any cucumbers right now, but I tested my gardens environment, and after 45 minutes in a closed tent, the temp rose from 76 F to 85 F. The fan is also quite loud because the garden is in my 4' x 5' x 10' walk-in closet, connected to my room. The exhaust is just going to the outside of the tent, into the sealed closet.

A lot of the time, this won't be an issue as long as I keep the closet door open and open the window.
But every now and then, if I need to close the closet, I can't risk that temp going past 85 F if I left it closed for 6 hours or more.

So, researching on duct, I came across insulated ducting.
HMMM.....thought I.

So I researched it, and I saw someone comment that the insulation in the ducting would actually absorb the HEAT and the SOUND??

What's your input on this,
and how can I fight the Cali summer?

i have a 1mx1mx2m tent with a 600 w cooltube .i to was haveing heat problems was advised to buy.a bigger fan of some guys on here.so bought a 6inch rhino filter fan.no more heat problems.mine is set up like this carbon filter-fan-cooltube-ducting to out side tent. the fan is a little noisy thats my next thing to fix.

if you cover where say's (other side of y open ) you should have a better flow through the cool tube so their should be less heat from bulb that should help some at least

Remove your adapter, put an axial fan at the end of your tube and duct it.

Or

Buy an additional duct, connect it to your passive intake and into the other side of your Y adapter.
What would recycling the already-hot air do to pass through the tent again?

I like your thinking, but unfortunately running ducting off an AC into the closet is not an option when I'm under high stealth, but I will definitely consider getting an AC to cool the exterior bedroom.

Whats a good way to add Co2 to the room? Can I run it through the ducting?

Amazing yield, I hope mine will be as successive.

I hope your wife recovers man, sorry to hear. Keep her medicated!

Thanks for the input everyone, but I haven't had much feedback on the actual topic of the insulated ducting (with the insulation fuzzy stuff inside?) for heat and sound absorption.

Co2 boost bucket's work awesome need by secound week flower..I use all the time vege/flower..jack ac in room is awesome idea!!! and thank's about the wife no recovery just time,. the genetic's in this plant is special have grown two pheno's and both were steller! flower when 2/3 size you want to finish! Easy grow Enjoy brother! P.S. insulated ducting is the ball's but heavy!! Use if possible! jack.home depot T5's 14ea.and two 200 watt cfl'sWith Co2 Boost Buckets vege clone.jpg429 cfm exhaust thru lamp outsideCo2 boost!!.jpg

the insulating ducting will help a little with sound but not much heat absorbsion. it will keep the heat inside the duct as it exits and will not be absorbed back into the room on the way out. i use insulating ducting but i already had some laying around.

where is the passive air coming from? the closet where your exhausting to?

what kind of fan? an actual inline or a booster fan?

what kind of filter? a can filter or a home made filter?

i think it should filter/light/fan/and out the tent.

4" 160 CFM inline fan
Yes, the passive intake is coming from the closet I'm exhausting into, but only when I'm on high-stealth.
And I also don't have room for the filter in my tent, if you look at my pic, you can see the whole layout.

Smoke>>>not talking booster fan's...fan's should be putting positive pressure through light so if any leak's will not send out smell..Should be FILTER-FAN-LIGHT-OUT!!wITH NO SOFT ELBO'S USE 90 HARD ELBO'S OR LOOSE 1/2 DIA AT EACH BEND! YOUR DUCTING IS THE BEST!! ALL THE FAN MFG'S TELL YOU TO PUSH WITH FAN NOT SUCK...THEY SHOULD ALLWAY'S BLOW POSITIVE PRESSURE AND NOT TRY TO MAKE NEGATIVE (OR SUCKING) FOR BEST PERFORMANCE! jack inline fan's are booster fan's can fan's and squirlcage fan's over 300cfm do the job throttled down with speed controll so it doesn't sound like jet taking off!

I don't think exhaust out of the tent is much of a problem if it's just exhausting into a room that is the same temp.
