 I'll be there. I live about 20 minutes from Oakland. :weed:.

Went to High Times Cup in June - tickets were $50. Weedmaps came out with a discount code for tickets the night before, after I paid $50 each. The discount was 50%!

I'm going to wait to buy tickets this time.

I'm going anyway.

What's the name of your entry?

Waiting is a good idea. I was with the guys who are putting it on yesterday and they were trying to get the weedmaps guys on the phone while I was there, so you might be on to something. (Just a guess, don't know anything about that for sure)

wish u luck at the sativa challenge boss...
Thanks man.

Good luck, man. Do us proud.
Thanks man. I'll do my best. Wasn't expecting to enter at all. Kind of a last minute deal. I'll be judging as well :)

Not sure if I'll win or not. If harborside enters their strawberry cough I might be in trouble. My smell/taste is pretty equal, but they've got a THC % edge on me. Also there is a couple Santa Cruz guys who've got some strains that destroy me (blue-train, dragons breath), but I don't think they participate in this one. Other than that I think my vortex holds up to pretty much all the other sativas from the bay area clubs.

Good luck man! :)
thx bro

*goodluck bro, hope to be competing with you in next years CA events, :)

Hope so! These competitions are pretty fun. The only bummer is that if you want to enter strains independently, you've got to donate a pack to the competition with no compensation. It's worth it for clubs to do that because if they get multiple pounds of that same strain they usually sell that shit for $20-25 a G after the competition and everyone buys it all up. So it's really only worth entering if you do it though a dispensary or don't mind losing out of a pack.

Wow. That's fantastic! Especially the GDP. Is that Ken's GDP? Usually GDP is ~ 10-13% thc. I bet you're stoked with the yield/thc content combo of that blue dream. I used to grow cheese my self, loved the bud personally, but clubs either loved it or hated it because of the smell/taste. It's not for everyone. I got rid of it to get strains that are universally loved. Also I could never get it to yield.

And yes, that's very impressive. People who haven't got their bud tested usually don't understand how rare it is to get a true top shelf strain. Most strains that are considered "top shelf" by most people are only ~12-16% THC. Anything above that is extremely rare. Way more rare than people generally think. Good job man. Keep up the good work.

My only word of advice, when you have a strain that's working out for you that well, don't change anything. Concentrate on growing those strains over and over until you've reached perfection. Then keep growing them. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

That's why I'm growing some Blue Dream for myself again this year. It's not something the clubs around here are really interested in, but I was damn impressed with it, as was everybody I shared it with.

I doubled my blue dream count this year. They are all my biggest plants right now, and the healthiest and greenest!
Yes, clubs have blue dream coming out their ears, but I donated all of mine in August lol..

All my girls are from neighbors, assuming they are all Oakland tribe,

Blue dream was definitely the fad of 2010, but less people are growing it now. It's still reasonably common but I'm just not seeing it for sale at clubs as much anymore. I stopped growing it when it got super popular to grow just because clubs were always stocked up on it. But now the trend is dying down and I feel like clubs will take it again at a premium. I may have to pick up that strain again. The yield + quality of it makes it one of the best if not the best all around strain to grow IMO.

That's how it's done. By July/August most clubs are running dry, they buy everything. I've actually had a guy who works at a major dispensary ask if I could hook him up because they didn't really have sh-t. Needless to say I've unleashed my entire stock pile in the last two months.

Happen to know what cut of GDP you have?

The other guys I was talking about only participate in the harvest cup in SF from what I've seen (I go to pretty much all of these)

Their outdoor blows the crap out of any indoor I've ever seen anywhere. It's two different groups of growers, both off the hook. I've never seen their strains available in dispensaries either but I have seen it circulating around town.
