Into 3 gal pot after germ?

Hey guys i was just wondering if putting a seedling into a 3 gal pot after germinating is a good idea? the 3 gal pot is where its gonna stay for its whole life any opinions?

long as your not one of those guys who frets over his plants and has to water or feed every day it'll work otherwise it will end up being over watered. weed thrives on frequent drying out cycles as it gets oxygen down to the roots. Extra perlite is recommended.

I do not think it will harm it and I believe many people do it. Plant there seedlings into there final pot to avoid any shock from transplanting. However, I prefer to have a smaller pot until it gets big enough to go into a larger pot size. This allows me to water and add nutes more often versus watering once every 2-3 weeks. I also have never experienced any transplanting shock, where the plant is stunted for a few days after transplanting. What I have always noticed is that once I transplant, the plant seems to take right off and have a minor growth spurt.

I started in a 3 liter container and moved after about 3 weeks to my full size pot.
As the initial responder said as long as you aren't going to over water it, you may actually be doing the plant a favor by avoiding transplant shock later on.
