Is exhausting/air exchange a requirement during dry?

I'm wondering if air exchange is important for a dry, or if it is only used as a tool for stabilizing RH and temps. In other words, if the humidity is on the lower side, can one just turn off the exhaust to keep the humidity up? Will this impact aroma/taste if air is not being exchanged? Assuming there are fans for circulation in the dry area.

I only use a circulating fan if the rh is decent. Usually for me rh is a bit lower than I want it, so I don’t use intake/exhaust when drying.

Gotcha, thanks. Yeah for me my RH is around 56%. Hopefully it's not too low, but the buds seem to be drying faster than I expected.
