Is it legal to get seeds delivered to South Africa?

Hi all.

Can someone please help me? Is it legal to get seeds delivered to South Africa? I live in Cape Town and have started growing my own indoor chronic. I get the seeds from friends who grow but its very sporadic. I get a whole lot of different strains but its usually 1 or 2 seeds at a time. I really want to get some Jack Herer or White Widow fem seeds but don't know if its legal to get them posted even tough some of the banks do say they deliver to S.A.

Any help will be much appreciated.

I doubt it would be legal. AFAIK possession of seeds is treated as possession of cannabis. I am a new South African grower myself and am also hesitant to order seeds online for fear of getting busted in such a ridiculous fashion. On the upside I think we are lucky to live in a region where you can easily obtain really potent sativas very cheaply. Myself I simply saved all the seeds from some really good (but poorly grown - not sensimilla) weed and am now growing directly from the germinated seeds.

I will be updating soon as there is still some work to be done on my grow box and I still need to raise some mothers for cloning before things can start in earnest. Fortunately we here in the Southern hemisphere have gone past the Winter solstice, so it's downhill from here!
