Is it ok to coil cords on a Gavita De fixture.

I'm setting up a new room with a bunch of Gavita De fixtures. The manual says not to coil the cords but I see so many photos in IG where the receptacle is right next to the ballast, cord is coiled and plugged in very close to the ballast for a real clean look on the install.

My room is setup similar, with the plug right next to the ballast and I've got an 8' cord to deal with. Can I not just coil the cord, zip tie it and plug it in?

Any insight is much appreciated, thanks!

I coil my de and se cords, they prob don’t recommend because of the RF interference. The shorter the cord from ballast to hood the better if you are worried about rf. Maybe Its hard on the ballast, I haven’t seen anything stating so when I researched de lamps. I had no problems coiling anyways.

The only problems with de cords I had was it would affect my EC probe on my res monitor depending where I ran it, I actually tried running the cord around cooper pipe lol. Running the cord as high as possible fixed it so the rf coming off it can’t even be that bad.

Looking at your pic, I would just pull it down that conduit and zip tie it in a single 4’ loop.

Thats a real good idea and will maintain the clean look I'm trying to achieve. Those fixtures are spaced 4' apart too.
