Is Ordering Seeds Legal?

I want to order some seeds online but I keep getting conflicting info about it.
Is ordering seeds on the internet illegal? If so why are there so many seed banks in business? My friend told me this would be entrapment if it was. I had another friend say if criminal intent is there then its not entrapment.
Maybe some others here could chime in about the legalities of this? Much appreciated.

The internet is international.

Seed banks may exist in one country where seeds are legal to possess (but perhaps not cultivate) and they will generally sell to any one, in any country.

Now, when you place your order from a country such the US where seeds are illegal, the seed bank (in Europe let's say) will sell and ship them to you but your country will do its best to catch and seize these at their borders.

It's not really easy for them to do this so lots get through.

This has nothing to do with entrapment or criminal intent because the police aren't selling you the seeds, then busting you for them.

The worst that will happen is that customs (in the buyers jurisdiction) will seize them, send the buyer a letter saying they were seized, and that's generally the end of it.

It is illegal to use any shipping company for the shipping of a federally illegal object; regardless of if you are an MMP. You will probably get away with it for many reasons; mainly, Obama doesn't prosecute MMPs and the worst the USPS will do is snag your seeds/stash. So... Word. GL.

This may be true *in America*, but the seedbank is the one doing the shipping, not the buyer, and the seedbanks aren't in America.

Lmao bwest, exactly, in the states it is illegal, but you won't get too much time for ordering seeds, just play stupid, you saw some seeds advertised as decorations on a site, at the most you'll get 3 months, less this is your third offense, in Canada MJ seeds are legal, just not germinating, in the Netherlands marijuana is 100% legit, and that is why most of the seedbanks are in the Netherlands, pray for that day. Yes it would be entrapment, you would get off with nothing if the cops set you up like this, Sea of Seeds is who I ordered from, they will send the seeds, US customs is probably more strict than CAN customs, but you'll prob get them, I've heard Attititude is good too, if I was in the states I would get the stealth shipping for sure.

weed is sooo not legal even in the netherlands, big misconception.... they allow the sales of it in coffee shops, but it's most definitely not legal and is mostly overlooked by the powers that be, but to say weed is legal in the netherlands is definitely false..

to the op, just oerder the seeds.. i do it all the time.. i've had one order out of maybe 100 or more get snagged by customs.. the only thing that happened was customs sends you a letter saying you were a bad, bad boy, or girl, and that someone tried to mail you a form of contraband, and that if you'd like, you could either go down to their offices, or call a number provided in the letter, and pick them up in person, which obviously is not suggested.. otherwise, it says on the bottom of the letter, no further actions will be taken..

lol, that's what was thinking too.. if ordering a lil contraband in the post is going to scare you, what do you think is going to happen when you've got a room full of stinking, smelly flowering marijuana plants??
ordering the seeds is about the easiest, less nervous part about growing cannabis ime.. :D

Very good to know, I thought it was 100% legit, it is 5 grams in a public area and 30 grams in private, and 5 plants for cultivation. In Canada it is a summary offense to have 30 grams or less, meaning you will recieve a fine of up to $1200 and it won't go on your criminal record, if you get caught with more up to 3kg you can be prosecuted for an indictment and be charged with possesion for the purpose of trafficking and be sentenced to 5 years less a day, I'm not sure for anything above 3kg or for cultivation.

That makes 3 of us. It you are too nervouse to order the seeds then having a room full of plant for the better part of 3 months is really going to rattle your cage.

I'm a true believer in absolute secrecy if you do decide to proceed. Now would be a good time to tell your friend you chickened out. I don't care how cool he is, how long you've known him, or how well your trust him, there is no reason he needs to know you are growing or are planning a grow unless you guys live under the same roof.

Rule #3: If someone says "stop" or goes limp, taps out the fight is over.

Wait, forget rule #3. That's for something else that I'm not suppose to talk about.

addy than the one where the grow is located.

Marijuana is NOT 100% legit in the Netherlands...it is somewhat tolerated and that toleration is declining fast....btw just order the fucking seeds already...worry about no smell, no sell, no tell and you will be fine...it is the no tell that gets most people popped

Actually, it's the breeders that are in the Netherlands, Attitude, Sea of Seeds(I think) are UK Based., another place where it's legal to possess Seeds but not germinate.... So retarded, just legalise the whole thing or fuck off.

I( have never (knock on wood) had any seized and been doing this quite a while with a shitloads of orders over the years
