Is PH up or Down necessary?

In hydro it is necessary unless you use nutrients like AN. PHbeing off can kill your crop quick.

I'm growing indoors, with canna coco, and a 5 gallon pot?

For Cana coco run your ph at 5.6 - 5.8 this is what I use.... along with nutes jacks 123 formula...good luck...... heres a video on the nutes https://www.rollitup.org/t/jacks-for-dummies.907678/page-2#post-12602161

PH is very important then..there are cheaper alternatives to the bottles of ph up/down...pennies on the dollar kind of solutions..ph control will be necessary for your grow

I never have to use pH Up, always pH Down.

I just use advanced nutrients PH perfect cost more but less worry. I still test my water though to make sure.

I haven't checked ph or ppm in nearly four years now, don't even own the equipment to do so lol. I've also let my res go up to three weeks with just topping off with tap water with those nutes. I just mix it and they grow.

check your ph as often as possible, the sooner you can stop a swing the smoother things go, check in the am and pm diligently
