Is this copper def.?

I'll give the run down first.

8 weeks of veg. on the 6th day of 12/12.
5 gallon smart pots with Just Right Extra soil.
Using advanced Nut. PH perfect line. Seems to be ph perfect for hydro ph always ends up being around 5.8 so I adjust to 6.4-6.7.
1000w HPS, on a mover and 4, 300w induction lights.
Temps have been a consistant 78 lights on 72 lights off. Getting ready to up the temps and introduce Co2 when they show flowers.

The new growth seems to be a little twisted and wrinkled. Leaves are green, a little light green, not as dark as normal so i may need to up the N a little, but there is no yellow so they are not starving. Ive done some research and seems to be a copper def. What do you guys and gals think? What is the best Remedy016.jpg017.jpg018.jpg019.jpg015.jpg?

I would just up the N a bit as you mentioned. I dont think you have a Cu deficiency because you said 'a little light green'. Younger growth usually becomes dark green and twisted when Cu deficient. Also I would not be using too much pH up. Your growing in soil and your medium is the determining factor when it comes to pH, not the pH of the solutions you are pouring in. Many pH ups are high in carbonates that can build up in peat/coco based mixes causing all sorts of headaches.

So what you are saying is, if I mix my nutes, check the PH, say its 5.8, just leave it be and the soil will balance out the PH?

That is correct. The pH of your medium pretty much is what it is. And you cannot alter it simply by pouring pHed water into it. Lime, sulphur, wood ash are things that alter a mediums pH.

There is no certain way I want to hear it. Ive just always balanced my PH, and never had this problem. This is my first full run with AN or a PH perfect line of any kind. So all I was looking for was a little help. NOT SMART ASS REMARKS..........

if theres build up youd need to leech off the excess by pouring 3x the medium through it with tap water perhaps at 1/4 dose. this sort of "resets" everything. if its really bad you should flush which is 10x medium so if its a 3 gallon anywhere from 9-15gallons poured through it.
also could be a pH issue, which is also usually solved by flushing
more than likely your tap is 6.0-7.5 and your nutrients bring it down to a 6.4 or 5.8.
if i were you id either add lime to the soil to buffer the pH back up to 7 or you could use a pH meter and make sure the water going in the plant and runoff water are compensated to adjust the pH. for instance if runoff of 7.0 water comes out 6.0, give it 7.5 and it may change to 6.5. this is most useful in soil situations

Today is feed day. I have 8 plants. 8 gallons of R/O water mixed with nutes. Ph going in was 6.5. Run off was 6.7. Ppm's were at 1000. Calibrated ph meter before I started.

There are 1000's of links to "SCIENTIFIC" websites (I find universities have good sites for botany and such)
Many will explain the relationship between plants and Ph levels. (also chlorine and chlorides, but that's another subject)
You may be surprised what you learn. Who knows, you may read awhile and then start looking for the receipts for the testing equipment you no longer need.
I'm just saying, there is a difference between repeating what others say, and understanding why they arrived at that conclusion
.
RIU is a great place to share experiences and photos and learn some things as well, but this is not BY ANY MEANS A SCIENTIFIC WEBSITE!
Instead of asking on RIU, go do some botany research and then ask your question. You will be able to weed out the parrots and you may even learn a little about how some people acquired their full rep bars, and how others echoed the songs of the masses.
