Is this Elmer’s Glue a Hermie?? :(

Hey all,

1. Is this plant a hermie? I found about 8 seeds on this specific plant and 3 more on other various plants. No nanners anywhere.

2. If this is a hermie, can my veg plants be affected also if I was cross-contaminating from room to room? They’re in week 5.

Should I harvest immediately?? The seeds are still green and poppable so they look premature. Any info you can give will help me. Please and thanks so much!!!

If you’ve found seeds, it is a hermie and it will pollinate your other plants turning them hermie, I would get it out of there asap. The pollen would likely stick around in your tent it is extremely hard to control

ugh :( that sucks. What about my other question. Do you think my veg can now hermie? If I cross contaminated and they’re in week5??

I just took better pictures of the specific plant that has seeds all over it. Is this a seed or a pollen sac because I’m getting mixed answers. If this pops it can pollinate my whole room???537690EF-9427-47BA-8F96-4A52A0A12ECB.jpeg7725E9A6-4B28-4716-B27B-9AAA473475AB.jpeg1B370630-373B-4031-B95C-5EAA8AF2A30E.jpeg873E6F3E-07EB-46BF-BE36-CD7092525C22.jpeg14845EC3-6786-4A2D-B9B7-F2151A5D32B1.jpeg

Still tough to see in the pic, but it looks like it might be a nanner. Here's a helpful thread to help you diagnose the issue.

is that a premature seed that you pulled out? I initially thought it looked like a banana getting ready to come out of the flower but pulled aside from the flower it looks like a premature seed/sac where a seed will eventually form.

What stage of flower are you at?

I agree, I thought the same thing.

Week 7. Im not sure what it is...I keep getting mixed answers, other growers I know are saying its a seed and some are saying it’s a sac. That’s why I’m here trying to get answers. I’ve never had a plant with seeds... every now and then as I trim I’ll see maybe 1-2 in a whole crop (16 plants) but not like 8 on one plant. So from the article above, I think this is a sac where nanners will eventually pop out from. Is that correct???

Update, I just flushed and lights out for these girls. I’m harvesting early and cutting my losses. All my other plants are good, just that one drama queen had to give me a hard time lol! Thanks so much for all your help!

Cutting early is only going to cause losses. If that seed has formed that much then any pollen has already been released by a nanner or a ball. Any other plants would have already been exposed. It's better to harvest mature weed with mature seeds than immature weed with immature seeds. I just don't understand the mindset of people freaking out and chopping early if they find a seed or two forming. By that time the deed has already been done and chopping early only gives you immature crappy weed.

The deed is done for that one plant but isn’t it possible for the pollen to still be around and pollinate the other plants? Kill the hermie to save the other females is my thinking

When done, bleach the crap out of everything, then rinse, will destroy leftover pollen, and anything else in there.

It won't cause your other plants to hermie, but it will give them seeds because the pollen is likely already on them, and as soon as those pistils come out, bow chica wow wow.

From the stage that seed is in the pollen was released a while ago. Any other flowering females in the same tent would have already been exposed. Plants in veg won't be pollinated because flowers have to be present for pollination to occur. Might as well just finish what's flowering and clean the tent before throwing more plants into flower from veg.

I don’t grow in a tent. I have a large room half the size of my basement. The one plant that was affected is the only one that had signs of hermie. The others are still looking beautiful and frosty. I figure chopping now can save 15 plants and if i lose 1, idc.

Tent, room, outdoors, doesn't really matter. All I was saying is that from the stage of growth that seed was in the pollenation took place some time ago. Seeds don't just grow overnight. That was pollinated a couple weeks ago so any other plants were potentially pollinated. Plants in the vegetative stage are fine. But it's a good idea to wash them down as pollen is very mobile and it's likely already all over your residence.
