Thanks both of you. And you’re kinda right oill originally had bag seed that I grew and got just a few seeds from that. Thought I was lucky as clones died. Just into flowering now and read that if it hermied in the past the genetics mean will likely again. Guess it has. Going to castrate zealously lol. And then buy seeds next time. Thanks for quick responses, very much appreciated!!!

Hermies dont come from shit genetics or bag seed, most likely another grower grew the same strains and didnt herm the plants.

It dosent make sense to blame genetics but guess for a lot thats the easy answer and fuck the breeder now some blow hard fucked his strain up!

100% yes.

Either a light leek or bag seed or shit genetics

Sorry you are wrong.

Some strains and phenos are more likely to herm. Feminised seeds are more likely to herm because they themselves are created by forcing herm plants and inbreeding asexually.

Personally I take cuts from all my plants and if they herm in late flower then I will kill all the cuts from that plant to avoid in future.

Some plants herm easier than others and some herm without any mistake by the grower.

Also bagseed is more likely to herm as we can assume that the sensi grower only let them get fertilised by a herm... not a female... hence... babies are more likely to herm.

Your talking rubbish, a good grower take the same strain and grow it out perfectly no herms.

Assuming a herm makes a herm is the biggest broscience lack of understanding i ever heard, since when did it ever work that way in fifty years and why dont you ever say it like it is.

Hearing your advice makes it hard for new growers to get a crop since they are the ones that get herms more and not any particular strain.

Stupidity of the utmost, leave the more complex stuff for those that know not some genetic guess that makes fuckall sense.

Lol it gets lively in here! I’m just blundering my way thru it as it’s only my second grow. A little concerned that some have pistels though. Would that suggest they are potentially fresh bud sites? Some seemed large and hung down like balls though.

Its lively because how some describe hermies and their easy breeding of it is total mindfunk.

Just carry on for now, it happens and worst you get some seed. You can pull the herms but by the end of the grow a lot of newbies who do this end up with no plants to harvest as they all showed a few pollen sacs.

Most get this when starting and daily threads shows its more a beginner thing that will go away one day when your dialled in mire.

Sometimes it happens.

Cool, I’ll try to castrate but aside from that will continue as is.

Does have a section where they mention (doesn’t mean they’re right I guess tho):

A clone of a true hermaphrodite plant will often also turn into a hermaphrodite, and offspring will often show the same traits even under perfect environmental conditions. It is recommended to never breed a plant that shows hermaphrodite traits since this is a highly inheritable genetic trait. A good “breeding stock” mother will not show signs of hermaphroditism even when subjected to stress.

Every cannabis plant has the potential for hermaphroditism because cannabis can be monoecious or dioecious. I also believe that too often it's blamed on breeders when in fact the factors that cause monoecious behaviour is due to stress created by the grower. Stress can include overfertilization which is becoming more and more common as people use more and more stuff in an attempt to plump their plants up.

Near all written seems stupid, you could breed the most hermie stress resistant strain and still some new grower will make it herm.

Dont suggest this stuff is breedable or avoidable but those who got herms and did another ten grows found the same strains gave them less even none.

Do you want me to make up stuff or just tell you exactly what it is and what experienced growers say it is.

It's a well known fact that feminised seeds are more likely to herm. How is that possible if it's not hereditary(to some extent)

Please do your research before calling bullshit on peoples advice.

I'll let others chime in... and let the op take advice of the masses. But you sir are full of shit

So all the good growers running fems who dont get this problem!

Your facts fall to pieces, how did fems magically aquire this trait - from regular seed its the same shit.

You should quit the research and gain the experience others have.

All plants can hermie if the plant is stressed in any way.

Genetics will determine how easily a plant will hermie. Ie. How much stress it will take before throwing out ball sacks.

Some plants will hermie with just a bit of under watering, other more robust plants will take a lot of stress and still be alright.

Find a strain that you like, make sure you know it has stood up to a bit of stress and has been stable still and get that fucker cloned.

I didn't say it's just genetics. Read my 1st post. Just saying some strains and phenos are more likely to hermie and it's better to keep ones that are less likely coz some sprout nanners without any stress... just towards the end they need to reproduce... bin them
