Is this powdery mildew

I'm new to growing and the strain I have here is chocolope. I worried this stuff on the leaves is the start of powdery mildew. I'm growing just 30 minutes north of Hamilton ON, Canada.

I've read that you can use apple cider vinegar would this work as well. Because I would like to avoid spraying any chemicals

Sodium bicarbonate = baking soda. Raises leaf surface pH out of the range where mildew can grow.

Vinegar might work in a similar way by making it too acidic. Either way, you want to make the leaves unfriendly to fungal growth

Sorry, PM sucks...Looks like a mild case so far.

These things will work, but only temporarily.

If you want something that might actually get rid of PM, try this next time. It's certified organic, but spraying it on buds can cause early browning. Spraying anything on buds can cause early browning of pistols. But had you used this stuff in veg, all would be well now.

You will probably have to deal with it at this point, and control it how ever you can, and then wash your buds with peroxide at harvest.

I just sprayed all 4 of my plants with sodium bicarbonate it seems that only one of my plants has the powder mildew . I have a bushier plant that doesnt seem to shish any PM yet should I trim her a bit

Some strains are more susceptible to it. I wouldn't trim it, unless it was to remove some lower leaves maybe. Anything you can do to keep your plants strong and healthy will help, like a silica additive.

Personally I love the Regalia and use it weekly up until like the 2nd or 3rd week of flower, although I did use it all the way til harvest when I had pm...And with now using the Regalia I have had bigger, healthier plants, zero but rod, zero pm.

What exactly is the main ingredient in Regalia I really dont want any chemicals or anything weird on my plants. I'm hoping the baking soda water spray will kill it before it gets crazy. How often should I spray my plants with the solution and I also saw some people add dish soap,would that be good to add the soap with my baking soda?

You should be very careful with the baking soda, dishsoap, vinegar home remedies...Yes they work, but they can burn the f*** out of your plants. Don't try and mix stronger solutions that what the recipes call for, and you should never spray them during daylight...spray at dusk or dawn, or lights out indoors. I learned the hard way and fried a bunch of plants!

Not sure what the main ingredients are in Regalia. It's not cheap...a quart will run around $100, but a quart has also lasted me 3 grows now and will last another 3, so it goes a long ways...and I'm sure you can buy smaller bottles. It is widely used in organic vegetable production, and they have a special version for cannibis...The CG line I believe it's called. There's several videos on the net, and loads of home recipes for pm.

My advice, is buy Regalia... if you don't want to buy Regalia, use the home remedies, alternating them weekly. Milk is another one used...Be careful with the dish soaps...some are too strong.

GreenCure fungicide is outstanding if you can get your hands on it. Omri certified organic. Very reasonably priced...20 bucks or less for a nearly lifetime supply container. Get the smallest, you don’t use much.

Was recommendation from a large professional legal grower that happens to be a family member. I’ve never used anything I’ve found to work better, although I’m sure there are others just as good.

No offense, but I'd put GreenCure in the list of temporary home remedy type products...and listen to these reviews of it


I was so desperate when PM hit me, then kept returning, week after week, crop after crop, that I kept trying anything and everything, until I finally tried the Regalia. I even bought and used an ozone generator to kill the spores. Nope!

BUT the Regalia is more of a preventative, so try whatever you want at this point. I'm an indoor grower which makes it even worse...PM gets into every fiber of your grow area and will keep coming back. At least you being outdoors can hope next year will be better, and grow mold resistant strains.

Good luck...I truly am not affiliated with Regalia any way...It's just an amazing product. I use it, Venerate (for bugs) and Armor Si as my IPM and have had no issue with bugs or molds mildews since....and bigger, healthier plants. These 3 products more than pay for themselves.

No worries there @manfredo. Like I said, there’s likely others out there that are as good or better. What works great for me may not be the right thing for a different person.

I've read good reviews on The Amazing Dr Zymes Eliminator, safe for people and works on PM and bugs. I've got a bottle on order but can't give a personal review yet.

Regalia is only a preventative, it will not cure an existing infection...you will have to use a knockdown spray first.

I havent found any enzyme product to be that effective....Dr.Zymes, Tweetmint, Big Time Exterminator were all not very effective for me.

my oudoor is starting to go. 3 phenos same seed stock. one flowering 2 weeks one 1 week the other... doubt will make it before frost. the latter is worst for pm. so either baking soda or regalia eh? guess ill go with baking soda asap and not sure if i should go for the regalia or not just yet. sounds a bit dirt nasty.
Was thinking of the baking soda from a long timer, but his stuff is subpar these days.. lol

edit - the two flowering atm look very similar apart from the week difference in flow. slimmer leaves than #3 and much less white on the leaves

#3 has bigger wider leaves hardly flowering yet, lots of white.

i sprayed my plants with baking soda and milk yesterday and now we are getting a huge rain storm today really hoping the PM got killed and wont have the chance to attack my plants today. I also read that you can spray aspirin on your plants and it activates something called the SAR to help it with PM and other issues. Have any of you tried this? @manfredo @Brudog @waterproof808

Never heard of aspirin, but I'd say rain is a good thing as long as it doesn't last for days

Not heard of aspirin, if it in fact works I’d assume aspirin being an acid changes the ph of the water to a level that kills PM. Just a guess though!

Im doing my 1st grow I'm trying the apple cider vinegar 2tsp with just over 2cups of water all i can get in my spray bottle just sprayed mine tonight but in Chilliwack bc Canada were having a rain and wind storm since Monday to Saturday temp around 15°c had to put all my plants under my patio. Next week its going to be sunny around 25°c

Thats what my plants look like right now the close close up pics are the 2 small ones in the front the left and middle ones hope the apple cider vinegar doesn't fuck them up there looking soo good
