Is This Too Much Light?

I have a grow closet which measures 2' deep by 5' wide and 6 feet tall. im shooting for a 600w air cooled mh/hps setup with inline fan to cool it. is this too much light for this space? most kits come with a 400w light for this size area but i hear 600w is the best. let me know your thoughts.:joint::peace::blsmoke:

as long as you can cool the area then I don't see no problem with it

That's close to the size of my space and i'm using a 1000w HPS/MH (air-cooled with glass) and the temp stays 70-77 in winter and no more than 83 in the summer. i also have an exhaust fan that is rated to empty my box 3-4 times a minute and an oscillating fan blowing on the lights.

so i think you should be fine.

Yep ,
60w . per sq. ft. is cool as long as you can keep the temps under control .

so with the lamp being vented to an intake and exhausted with a 6 inch inline the lamp should not give off that much heat to the interior weed bearing area correct? and then im just going to exhaust the actual room with a scrubber/fan combo getting fresh air in every two minutes approximately and removing the scent of glory. how does this setup sound? good temps? :joint::peace::blsmoke:

That sounds about right to me. One idea to consider is after you get everything set-up, run it a few days to a week with nothing in it to monitor the temperature/humidity/etc... so you can resolve any issues before putting any plants at risk.

I don't know but Dankie usually recommends it.
I have 6 mil poly, black on 1 side white on the other covering 4'x6' opening, with a tarp zipper on it, and it works perfectly.

It traps heat. Not sure how much, but you certainly need to have other ventillation while the lights are on!
