ISOPROPYL Hash Turned Sticky

The First time a made Isopropyl Hash I used 30gs of stem. I blended it all up, then added isopropyl untill all the ground stem was submerged. I blended the ground stem and the isopropyl, then let sit for 45 minutes. I poured the liquid through a strainer then onto a steel tray, and after an hour i had a sheet of 3gs fluffy, green, powder hash.

The last time i tried to make hash. I had 8gs of ground weed in a "Magic Bullet", then i added just enough isopropyl to completely soak the weed. I blended and let sit for about 20 seconds. I strained the contents, and the green liquid poured onto a plate. When i went to scrape it off it was very sticky and could only pick off a bit from the plate. i scraped almost a bowl off and threw the plate away cause it was stuck on.

Where did I go wrong?
How did the Hash become so sticky?

my GUESS is that the stem resin was older than the buds so had less terpenes in it to thin down the resin into sticky tar.

soooo if i turn fresh bud into hash its gonna be sticky but if i use old stuff it will be less sticky?

that was my guess, yes. Some strains are stickier to start with, 'speacially the indicas.
Once I redesolved some oil and let it sit in a test tube to let the solids settle out I let it sit for hours then I sucked off the top portion with an old syringe I had for refilling ink cartridges. When I dried that part out it was rock hard and scraped off into a fine dust.
