during veg you can do 24 hours of light to have your plants grow faster. but during flowering you have to keep 12/12

Never heard this before.

Plants don't need 12/12 to flower they just flower because of the change in light.
I suppose if you started at 24/0 and went to 14/10 it may flower but I have never tried it or read about anyone else doing it. If you want to try it Sky High I would be willing to see what happens. :)
I believe giving anymore light than 12/12 raises your chances of getting a hermie though. Hope I could help some.

I've known people who use a 10(light)-14(Dark) photo period,11-13,and a 13-11 photoperiod for flowering, they start at 13 -11 and work their way gradually down to a 10 - 14 cycle for the last two weeks, they reckon it mimicks the beginning of autumn approaching winter better and is more natural to the plant,i have never tried it though.

have kinda tried this method myself. Started on 24hr lighting then reduced it over time to mimic the growing season. Yes it works, but i reckon i lost a bit of yield. The reason 12-12 is used is because it works!
