Jack Herer, indoor, odd looking buds

High,

I’m growing 2 Jack Herer plants indoors - sativa dominant. One plant is larger with no buds and the other is slim with about 10 oncoming buds. But... they look odd.

I’m at the 3 month mark.
Plant 1 (no buds) was planted in Miracle Grow.
Plant 2 (buds) was planted in Jiffy.

Thoughts on the bud formation being off-looking and the other plant having no buds?

Aren’t the buds odd?
And the plant looks a bit skinny?
This is my first attempt at growing, so I may be wrong. Thanks for the reply!
