Thanks repubs for ruining the fucking planet with your pro pollution/anti-science agenda.

(CBS News) January to June 2012 was the warmest first half of any year on record for the contiguous United States, according to National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

The average temperature during that period was at 52.9 degrees F, which is 4.5 degrees above the typical average. Twenty-eight states east of the Rockys were had record warm temperatures, with an additional 15 states in the top 10 for warm temperatures. Every state across the contiguous U.S. had warmer than average temperatures, except Washington.

The first six months were also drier than average, producing 1.62 inches below nationally-averaged precipitation. Fourteen states had precipitation totals among their ten driest for the time period. However, wetter-than-average conditions were observed Northwest and upper Midwest. Minnesota, Oregon, and Washington had six-month precipitation totals among their ten wettest.

The higher temperatures were aided by the recent heat wave that caused at least 65 deaths. While temperatures have cooled down, the temperature has broken more than 2,100 temperature records since July 1.

You might be a republican if you believe the greenhouse effect means better gardens for all.

Give it up, the Eco-Loon MMGW dream is dead. How many times have we heard these dolts caution against us against "disbelieving" MMGW because of a cold spell? Now, everyone is supposed to swallow it because of a heat wave that happens to be the highest in a paltry 117 years?

What was the highest average temp for this area of the earth 1, 5, 10, 20 thousand or even million years ago? You know, before our big, bad automobiles and factories were around? If you can't prove this is the hottest the planet has EVER been, stow it. Go find some other hyped up impending disaster you can decry, you political hack.

"The oceans will boil and it's the evil REPUBLICAN'S fault." This ad has been approved by Barak Obama.

Tool.

Why do I waste my time stating the obvious to halfwits that will never see the absurdity of the MMGW claims? It's just the means to an end for them. From now on, all that is needed to debunk this bullshit is below.

No. Usually where I'm at it's hot as fuck constantly by now. It's nice here and has been. In fact we haven't broken a single hot record yet.

Most of our records are from 1980. All our lakes are up too.

I believe 1980 was the hottest year on record. Also this year is way better than last year, we were sitting around 110 degrees this time last year its only low 90s now and a lot more rain.

It's pointless to argue with people who refuse to debate. In the face of very strong science, naysayers prefer to tear down instead of listen and judge based on sound research.

Want facts: http://climate.nasa.gov/ is an excellent resource.

Think global warming is not real? Then tell me why every government on Earth is planning for it and the US is realigning major portions of its military toward Arctic defense?

I think the scientists are jumping the gun. In the 70's an ice age was coming. Now it's global warming.

Truth is, science gets this shit wrong all the time.

Evidence is nice and all, but there isn't enough.

What I see is meteorologists that have a hard time predicting the weather tomorrow.

And before you say weather is not climate, it in fact is. Weather determines climate.

its fucking hot. and its getting harder to grow anything except cacti... can we all agree on that at least?
Last week was hot for sure. This week we're in the mid 80's in cental NC, oddly mild for this time of year for us. It seems to be consistently in the 90's for most of my kid's summer vacation every year. I've been thrilled with the weather this year, up until last week. But, I'm not gonna go trade in my massive, safe vehicles for a couple electric deathboxes over a week of high temps. Let the libs do that, I'll scrape them off my brush guard when we collide.
