JTR topping time?

My buddy and I are in the middle of an outdoor grow, out here in california. They've been out for roughly a month, and are getting quite large. About crotch height. One of these plants is Jack the Ripper. It is currently growing in the classic christmas tree shape, and has very long, fat branches. Technically it is my buddy's plant, and he's wondering when to top it, and which node to top at. If anymore info is needed just let me know.

i think you just need to read uncle bens topping sticky. i would disregard the last post about fimming. read the OP from uncle ben and then use your imagination and take what you learned and apply it. maybe you will top it above the second node therefore taking most of the plant off ...perhaps youll end up letting it get taller then topping the toppest node....that would get you a real bush and imo would be the best option. each node you top at will give you different results so be sure to read the sticky.

i wait till plant is healthy enough to top.....i like to do it early in the game and keep as much stress away from flower as i can. i would top asap...if the plant is healthy. wait for about 3-5 node sets and top that fucker. i have grown jtr twice and i have two more in the flower room now.

why are you trying to put me down? this is about topping not fimming and not outdoors. i have read both stickys like 20 times and its something im spending alot of time on. are you suggesting i gave bad advise? or you just feel like talking shit?
