Salvia Divinorum is a legal plant, orginally from Mexico, whose leaves contain the psychoactive chemical salvinorin A, whish is a potent k-opioid receptor agonist. Most people smoke salvia in an extract form, instead of smoking just it's leaves. The reason for this is that smoking the leaves produce only light, if any, effects. The kind most people buy in the stores are extracts. They use a similar process to create extracts as you would for hash, except that the extract goes back onto the leaves when finished. Salvia is not for everyone! Though most experience uncontrollable laughter, visions, overlapping realities, feelings of motion or a pushing, twisting force, Salvia can effect other people poorly. Some users report anxiety, depression, difficulty concentrating, and worsened mood. It's still legal to possess, cultivate and sell in most parts of the world. Personally I don't like it myself. I've tried all different forms of it and it just doesn't impress me. If I want to trip you can bet I'm going to take a couple blotters instead of smoking this foul tasting herb.
