i fed the plants some nutes for the first time today :) i'm proud of myself cuz when i was going hydro, i didn't understand really how the whole nutes and ppm worked...i just threw some in and it worked. this time i really studied wut the nutes were doing and how to use them...so heres wut i did :)

in my 5 gal bucket i put about 4.7 galons of filtered water

1 tbs of PBgro (plus)
1 tbs of PBbloom
1 tsp of Liquid Karma
1 tsp of Cal/Mag
pH 6.8
ppm 420

and that fed 9 plants :)

they look good and awake and ready to flower...so we'll do that tomorrow :)

"bring on, this flowering...bring on, bring on...."

Nice bro

Good feeling to know you're learning how your babies feed and what they truely need/want, huh? Just remember, never get too comfortable with nutes. There's ALWAYS something more you can learn.

*I think you are missing a carbohydrate solution in the mix. Consider Molasses as a cheap/effective solution that will help add weight/potency & sweeten flowers, or you can purchase botanicare SWEET, an bud candy, ... Up to you*

Remember to get any pruning, topping, thinning, lollipopping taken care of before you switch to 12/12 to reduce stress. You don't want any stress during the flower period as avoiding that will reduce chances of hermies/seeds/stunted growth.

What kind of lighting are you using???

it does actually feel good to learn all of this and listen to my plant rather than listen to the hydro store sayin to feed all the god dam time so u come back to buy more

i was planning on purchasing some Sweet and i thought it was for the middle stage of flower...am i wrong?

as far as pruning goes, i'm taking 12 clones tonight, mainly from the tops of the 5 mothers i have under the 400w mh

for flowering right now, i just have 1 1000w hps with digi ballast, but i plan on bumpin it up to 3!

Ya those hydro guys are quite the salesman. They will push those products on ya HARD! Just gotta learn to read the labels, as you can call them on their shit sometimes. There's plenty of products out there for less that have the same forumlas and sometimes even more strength to mix more gallons than the equivelant nute with a more expensive brand. I say look to as many raw, organic sources you can find, or at the least, goto your nursery & home dep/lowes gardening depts and see what's out there that can be used at lower prices before running into the hydro shop.

The SWEET product is directed for flowering, don't get me wrong, but it is best to feed your plants carbs all the way from start to finisih. The reason for this, is that quality soil has living bacteria in it. This works in tandem with your roots as it colonizes throughout, but like any living organism, requires some sort of food. This is where the carbs are hands. They feed on these carbs, and the byproduct will be a release of natural vitamins, aminos, increased nutrient uptake, and much more that can really help your plant. It's not ALL about feeding carbs in there for your plant to absorb. At the rate roots absorb carbs, one could never expect such a thing. It's all about feeding the beneficial bacteria in the soil, and then there's gonna be some leftover for your roots to feed on for the plant, too. But yes, I'd say go for that asap and start feeding. You could run to the store and get molasses (i go for the organic) and the $6 will be money well spent. Go for 1 tablespoon per gallon, moving up to 2 per gallon when you approach week 4-5 of flowering to really carboload your plants. They will be feeding heavily by this point, anyway.

Nice that you're getting the cloning out of the way before the switch. Give them a day or two to recover after cloning before going to 12/12 so that they can recover a bit. That's too much stress to just chop them up and turn the lights off on em. You're getting close tho!

If you achieve the 1 gram per watt goal that can be reached by many genetics out there, you could harvest 2 pounds + , so I wouldn't sound too disappointed with one light right now. Three will be great, and you'll see amazing results if & when you do. But starting small isn't a bad idea right now. It's gonna be a lot easier to maintain your room with one, as 3 puts off A LOT more heat and requires a lot more ducting & a solid vortex fan so that you can cool. Some climates still require a small ac unit on top, depending on the setup & location. You're gonna find your electricity will be MUCH LESS, too. I remember the first time I got a monthly statement for about $500 and could not believe it added up so fast. But if you do things right, it's pennies in the end!

Molasses is really for the entire grow especially if you are in organic soil. In soil the molasses adds micro organisms, trace elements and many other good things to your plant. I don't know anything about hydro (don't want to know) but molasses will promote exceptional root growth to your babies if used throughout the grow. I am attaching a thread from this site, which is just a copy of a study done with molasses on your babies and beneficial properties it has and also the dangers of using too much. Hope this helps and never stop studying the growth cycles, feeding properties and such of your babies always more to learn, but Congrats on what you did learn.

so do i feed em organic molasses every feeding or every watering?

i'm still confused on how to feed my plants from here on out cuz up until now i've just fed em water and to eat on the soil and now i'm about ready to flower...so do i feel nutes to my plants every 2 or 3 times i water? what should my ppm be right now and how much should i boost it and when and with what??

Relax and take a deep breath, you are doing fine. I don't know much about the soil you are using other than what I have read on this site since I make all my own soil for my babie. I would suggest that once a week you give your plants 1 tbls of unsulphured molasses to a gallon of water until the babies are finished. This will help the soil and the plant. So you don't have anything to worry about the babies will take care of themselves now and finish nicely. I would start giving the clones a light feeding of molasses once they have had their roots for about 2 weeks. Also, I would just for shits and giggles take one clone and not give molasses so that you can see the difference in the plants, this will allow you to judge for yourself the benefits or lack of benefits you receive, just a suggestion.
Happy Growing and keep us informed.
