I have just realised that I have had my nutes for over 5 years. It is the 3 part feed, advanced hydroponics of holland. can anyone shed any light on this??

thanks

i'd think that if they're left out of direct light and not kept in too hot of an area that they should last for a pretty long time..

i know i've had my 3 bottles of fox farm nutes for a good 3 or 4 years now and still use them.. considering i only use 1tsp per gallon of water, that stuff lasts a fairly long period..

My blood and bone nutes were bought in 2005. From what i read a while ago, liquid nutes should last a while if it is properly sealed. Powder can go moldy.

oh oh oh are you doing hydro?? when I was doing hydro it seemed to eat up nutes alot faster but in soil they seem to last awhile longer you are using less at a time and not doing res changes and stuff. I got to the point where I only did one res change when switching to 12/12 after awhile you just gotta maintain it
How do you guys keep nutes for so long??? Seems I'm always buying more.

yeah usin NFT, been usin for years, stopped for 5 years, started again ...(weed prices).. do you flip ur nutes at 12/12 or work down/up to it. i also meant to ask, do you flip lights from 18/6 to 12/12 or work down over 6 days e.g.

the strange thing is they do go out of date, even AN has a shelf life of 2 years. That being the case you'd think they could put an expiration date on the bottle, but like AN most only put batch numbers which mean nothing to the consumer unless they call and ask the expiration date from the batch number.

I don't do hydro anymore in at least 3 years but I used to switch to hps and switch to bloom nutes a week before going 12/12. seemed to speed things along although you have to watch and make shure you start givin a little nitrogen a few weeks into flower

i still give them some veg nutes, only at a lower dose, along with flower nutes when i switch as i think they still do a lot of green growing in the first 2 weeks or flowering in the stretch period, so imo, they still need a bit of n..

i also like to give them small amounts of veg all through flower to help keep the leaves nice and green.. i see so many people who have tons of yellowing leaves about a month into flower, and i think that the lack of n in a lot of flower nutes is the cause of this..

i don't like to give too much n as too much will make flowering take longer, but in lower doses i think it's good for the plants.. :D

mines 3 part. kinda like , grow , bloom and micro. you use various mixes of the 3 during each stage. So dont drop the veg nutes as low as i would normally in the first 10 - 14 days of 12/12?
