My house is joined up to another house and there is only only a wall seperating my grow room and my neighbours bedroom iv got 45 plants and am really struggling with the heat. Ordered a fairly big intake fan for my large tent. Problem is its louder than I thought I already have several oscalating fans to keep the plants cool there loud enough as it is. Is there any way I can make it quieter, some one told me if I wrapped it up in bubble wrap it should do the trick???? I cant really afford a silent fan there pretty expensive.....suggestions please

You can make a DIY filter? They bring down the noise alot. Also you can buy dials for the intake fans to turn them down from full blast. Home Depot, Lowes, they got em. Good Luck bro.

I bought a cheap Fan controller off ebay for £7 (about $11)
Works a treat and cuts out a load of noise not having fans run full speed.
I also built a silencer box out of wood and lined it with strips of rubber to absorb noise, you can see a pic of this in my grow journal linked to in my sig.
Putting bits of rubber under any hanging fan strap will also reduce vibrations a lot which helps too.

Good luck.

One thing I did find, as my extract fan got hotter, it eventually slowed down and stopped alltogther! Had to buy a newer / better fan after about 2 weeks. Even this fan slows down as it gets hotter, guess it's the metal contacts expanding with the heat.
Just be aware of this if you're going to be wrapping up a fan with loads of shit! It can also be a fire risk too. Sucking in all that hot air from the bulb for hours on end takes it's toll.
