i probably did and me not matching up the hours when they were inside vegging to the light schedule outside probably didnt help either ;/ but this is my first attempt at growing under the sun so what ever i get ill be more than happy with.

I'm on board, bro...Good to see you in the outdoor section!

Meta my man!! i missed you guys in a completly heterosexual way of course lol
it feels good to be back on RIU i thought i was going to have to make a new account for a minute.I hadnt logged in in so long i almost forgot my password

What size rubermaids are you in? Im anxious to see a grape ape.

Any weed is better than no weed at all :P..... But, yea.... Being from North Cal, about May 10th or so Is the perfect time to start seedlings outdoors, but if you're gonna start them indoors, then place them outdoor for flower, or if you were just starting them off indoors till they were strong enough to survive outdoors, then flower, it would be perfect to put them out around right now (June 10th or so)......... I got more than 10 seasons under my belt, so I've made my mistakes at the beginning also..... (Remember when I thought every day of the year was 12 hours sunlight, and 12 hours dark....lol.... But, no.... Right now you have about 14 hours sun/10 hours dark, so it's good for veg...... and slowly it's gonna even out to 12/12 again, and that's moreless when they will start flowering..... If you do it how I told ya, and transfer from bigger to bigger pots, you could have 2 LB or more Plants!.... No need to top or anything....... If you start them on the ground, some people think they can grow as big, but this takes years of tending the soil, and perfecting the ph, as most soil around here is very alkaline, so you'll need to add Aluminum Sulfate, or Iron, and fix in potting soil to make it nice and soft for your roots..... Cant really rush this process, it will usually take around 6-12 months depending on how bad it is...... I never did this, as I like to move my plants if it rains and such.... So I just aim for 4-6'(not counting the 3' of the can) plants in 30 gallon trash cans

thanks man this year i got a late start
but next year in gonna start gathering supplies in jan so i can let the soil cook a little longer like you mentioned
i do have a couple more bins out there with no plants in them and the dirt has been "cooking" for about a month now
and i can really tell the difference in the two mediums

first thing in the morning im going to go and get 4-5 clones from the dispensery

what do you suggest i do with them seeing as the roots arent really that strong yet?

would you put them straight in the rubbermaid or into a smaller pot first (3 gallons) or so and veg inside with cfls ( i dont have mh)
on a timer set to match outside day /night ?

If it were me, I'd put it in a 3 gallon pot first, and put them outside in partial shade..... Not 100% direct sun just to be safe..... I have put cloned from a 4''x 4'' rockwool block into 4 gallon pots in full sun before with good results also, but I wouldnt risk it that way if it were YOUR plants under my care..... If they were mine, and they roast, they were mine, ya know?...lol...... But, yea..... I say either 3 gallon pots inside for a week like you said matching light pattern.... Or outside under a tree with partial shade.. for a week...... Thing about outdoors also, is you always have to keep an eye on the weather in advanced..... Make sure you know when it's gonna rain or whatever days before, so you have time to move, cover, add support if it'll get too windy and such......... Next season I'm gonna build an outdoor semi greenhouse for outdoor like this guy from youtube..... Dont know if you've seen him before, but he does everything right, and doesnt slack off like I tend to do alot...lol...... But, yea... Next year I wanna have a 25'x15' grow area with insect netting...... I was gonna do it this season, but the place that guy bought the netting does not have the size i need in stock till december..... So I'll start building it then..... here's the youtube guy i speak of if you have time... awesome dude.... Maybe you already know him :)... http://www.youtube.com/user/MRCOUCHLOK#p/u/9/_9Tjvp_bQFI

i was also wondering what is up with the yellowing and brown spots
if anybody has a guess as to what it is id love to hear

IF anybody has ever grown any of these strains (gdp, purple kush, purple urkle, platnum og) id love to hear what they like/dislike

haha I sure hope so
i was researching on google and i hear that Purple Urkle, gods gift ,grape ape are all diffrent phenos of gdp im not sure how
true that is but ill be keeping a close eye on them to see if i see any differences in growth rate, size of leaves ,color etc.

Ok meta since you have some experience growing outdoors
i was wondering how many ounces do you think they will yield ?
i know its hard to say
but im just looking for a ballpark figure cause i dont have any idea what to expect
im hoping for 4 oz minimum each plant?

I have a feeling that the OG/Platnum og kush from seed will outshine the clones

I think you could pull 4 zips per plant...but it's hard to say. Shit, even a couple zips is worth it. I guess it really depends on how much growth they get from now till the first or second week of August...Then they'll start their little flowering stretch and pretty much be done with vertical growth after that. But I guess it really depends on how fast they take off. But I totally think 4 zips per is do-able. Whats your direct sunlight like? I'm trying for at least 4 zips a plant this year(but I'm hoping for around a pound per), purely based on the fact that my girls only really get 5 hours direct sunlight a day, but if you get like 9 hours, they should do nice! In any case, I wouldn't worry about it so soon, lots of variables to consider throughout the season, and after all, any free weed is still free weed, right?

they get direct sunlight from around 8am-5:30/6 (i have to move them aroung 4 so they can get that extra 2 hours)
but yea im not going to worry about it

ill have a good idea once i chop the bbhb and violator around this time next month
just looking at them im thinking i might get 4 zips the calayx's are huge on these compared to their indoor cfl sisters

ii just cant wait to see the colors of these girls come october :)

Your violator and BBHB? will more than likely produce less than the other plants. I say this because it seems they have already started budding. They may get 4OZ but the other plants will weigh better as long as they are in the same conditions. The summer solstice (the time when daylight is at its longest) is very soon and those plants will just keep flowering, But the other girls will veg a bit longer than becoming monsters

Ps im sorry you meant only the plants that aren't already flowering. fuck it. haha i cant delete anything now.
rule of nature i dont expect to get shit in a harvest. even with ~1 QP per plant coming in the end. Treat those babies like your fighting or a life. it can only help in the harvest.
Whats your pot size? and will you increase it?
