I have done all the regular steps with this batch ,as far as curing goes. I am still having a leafy homegrown type smell.I dried by hanging the buds, after being crispy on the outside. I put them into a large twist top container to cure now they have the leafy smell. When they were growing they had a stinky smell of dank i have yet to smell again. Anyone have any solutions to this problem.:wall:

Dude ive had buds take 2 or 3 weeks after drying to cure and get there dank smell. Take a small bud and break in to it a little if you smell dank then just let them cure for a bit longer.

Did you flush at the end of flowering? Sometimes a stronger plant smell/taste indicates a lot of nutrients were not exhausted before the plant died. It's important to flush at least 2 weeks prior to harvest in order to give the plant time to consume most/all of the nutrients so you get more THC and less N in your smoke.

Don't let the flush-fear mongers discourage you. Can you give us more info? Like how many days the goods were hung, how long they've been in a container.

The leafy smell is essentially the green stuff escaping the buds. Once that is gone, your buds will smell good.

Keep in mind, air curing at its fastest is like 3 weeks, assuming drying only takes a week and the rest of the cure is 2. Although, 3 weeks is probably far too short in many cases.

More than likely the chlorophyll breaking down.
If the bud burns smoothly and the ashes are soft, you need not worry about not flushing enough etc.
