Hi everyone, recently picked up some Bubble and Kush XL autoflowers I am growing using Foxfarm ocean soil. . This will be my second grow, my first didnt go so well and its because I wasnt properly watering my plants. My apartment currently is really hot its around 85 Farhenhit and my soil was drying out quick. So I am seeking advice/guide on how to water plants. I was just watering with disstilled water before, however I have heard there is better methods to get water the at a better ph level for autos.

So how much water should I use in the seedlings vegetative, and flowering stage? any advice for the simplest setup for water and getting good ph levels?

Thanks everyone!

First things first you need yourself a ph pen or ph strips. Next your gonna wanna check your ph and get some balancer to bring the ph up or down as needed il throw a chart up for u. And u can base it off your medium though u said soil. If your using Nutes you need to check ph after Nutes are mixed into your water before feed cause ph will go up or down with different concentrations of Nutes added depending on where u live and what kinda water you have most people now days are ok with tap water but if your on city/ town water It’s gonna have chlorine added and will need to sit for 24 hours before being used. Think about it like this don’t wanna drown the plant but don’t wanna let it get to dry. I personally go by weight of each plant cause each plant feeds and grows different if it’s light water a little if it’s heavy leave it till it’s lighter and then I need to consider rh and temp if your rh is high and temps are high it’s not gonna feed. Me personally give about a gal per 4 plants per feed weather that’s each day or every 2 or even every 3. Some days they drink a lot other badly at all. Just don’t over do it and don’t let them dry to much it’s pretty common sense to what’s over kill and what not wet soil causes rot and moulds. Feeding soil won’t have a chance for much to happen. Also slot of people say keep your plants in a tray with water in bottom I don’t i have mine raised off bottom of tent to let air all around so it dries evenly. Just my 2 cents and a bit. and no matter what people say about Autos as long as any stress happens before it starts to flower it will be fine stress after flower will effect yield and potency Good luck. And sure it will be alright.

Some good reading I'd recommend searching for is on 420mag, emilya - proper way to water a potted plant.

Might find some/all of the info as useful as i have so far..

Best of luck!

Lift pots after proper watering - wait till pot feels lighter ( monitor days between ) to judge how quickly plant is utilizing moisture.

Environmental factors / transpiration dictate how often . Regular wet / dry periods show how well plant is running along.

Thank you, def have water them based on their weight now. I am still having trouble with finding the proper ph level though, my tap water is around 7.5. I saw you recommended Alaska ph down before but i cant find it anywhere, any other recs??

I grow in coco. No nutrients in the coco unless i add them. I always pre-water my coco a night before planting seeds. Usually just 2ml cal mag in a gal of water. I just water the whole pot lightly. I want it damp, but not soaking. Just want the cal mag in the coco. It usually sprouts in 3 days and by the 4th day the coco needs watered again. This time it gets the cal mag plus 1/4 of the nutes ill give her. I just water her every 4 or so days while small. You only want to water around the plant. You really shouldn't water the entire pot untill the leaves are close to the edge of the pot. You want them to keep moving out for water not down. This is a photo, but same concept. She is 6 days from breaking soil if i recall. As she grows out the circle of water gets bigger untill the whole pot gets watered. Side and top picture to show how the circle is kept. I'm not a scientist and don't care to arugue with anyone else who is not a scientist. If the whole pot is watered the roots won't expand ongy move down and less roots is less growth. More and widespread roots is bigger growth and flowers in the end.

Later on if you're growing in soil. Just stick your finger up to the middle joint into the soil. Pull it out and if its damp dont, if dry do. Its never failed me once

It’s gonna have chlorine added and will need to sit for 24 hours before being used.
Chlorine only kills the microbial life that is suspended in the water itself. If you're not making tea or using microbes it should be fine. Save yourself the chore. It won't effect the microbes in the soil.
