learning plant genetics????

Say I have plant and I wanna know the genetics of it. Is there a place that does this?

Got a buddy that says he can send a plant to said place and they will send him a full profile of what it is and where it came from?

Good question.
Not sure. Seems unlikely.
My gut feeling says most strains would be too hybridized to definitively tell?
Unless they have a huge database of dna profiles to compare to?
Possible maybe to test geographical origin?
I suppose if they can do it with people. Maybe they can with plants too?
Seems it would be much harder to tell though.

I think I may do this with my plants. As of now I'm just hoping I have something worth growing this could be a legit way of verifying it.
