we try to see what its about, and if we know the solution, we might help.
if we don't know the answer, why to reply?

anyhow, it seems to me like light burns. are you misting your plants or something? how far is the light?

I know noone is going to always know the answer but something is always better than nothing i think...but anyway back to the subject at hand

I mist it with plain water probably about 4 or 5 times through out the day. I keep 2 26w CFL's on constantly. and my 400w HPS on for 10 hours a day. (8am-6pm to keep electric low). The HPS is about 30in from plant and CFL's are at about 4 in above canopy when HPS isn't on. I thought it was light burns as well but it never gets above 80 degrees around the plant. I 1st noticed this spot after the leave accidently touched one of the CFL's, but if thats the problem..why/how would it spread down the plant and to other leaves??? thoughts?

if that is aluminum get that out of there

looks like a light burn like the previous poster said

good luck

Whats good Smokin Mayne, I appreciate da comment. If it is in fact a light burn...what do you do to stop it or heal it?

oh BTW TX stand up!!!

I believe nothing is better than a wrong answer. Let someone who knows the answer reply. and that takes some patience.

the water you mist focus the light to a point and burn the plant.
you don't need to mist that much - its not benificial. foliar feeding once a day is enough, and should be done before the lights go out so that there's no light when the leaves are sprayed.
if you mist just water to higher humidity - stop! if you need to higher the humidity get a dome.

also it could be tons of things i don't know much about, but I know that misting the plants while the light is on CAN cause your problem.

30" from the canopy for a 400W is a LOT. I run a 400W as well, and its around 8" from the plants (using a cool tube). 30" from the light the plants get at least 5 times less light (!!!!!) than 8" from the light.
if you can't get a cool tube put your exhaust to suck heat from the light.

26W CFLs should be placed 1" from the plant. not 4".

yes sir

it is just a burn created by a hot spot from the alluminum or it also can be created with mylar too..

its just when the light hits your reflective material and it reflects off of it back onto your leaves..

kinda like a magnifying glass with the sun example...

i would just remove the aluminum and just continuing vegging like you would normally do

i wouldnt mist my girls either

good luck mayne

Man all that makes perfect sense. I put the aluminum down because the lower leaves were just sitting under the dripper and i wanted to prevent nute burn from the heat of the light. This problem actually occuredd before I started puttin the foil down.

As for the misting...I do so because the plants just feel dry sometimes. Are they suppose to feel that way? I actually wouldnt know at all cause its my 1st grow n shit. but yea ima take ur advice and see what happens.

if your leaves are dry its usually a problem with your humidity and also if you have a fan blowing on them 24/7

when im in vegging and flowering, i turn my fans away from the girls so they can relax and not have dry air being blown on them all day

try to keep your humidity between 40-55%....you usually will have some wiggle room in that area depending on the strain..

but if you are vegging right now i would not worry too much about your burn spots because when you do flower it will build bigger and badder fan leaves and most likely the ones lowest to your stalk will die off half way through

your plants look really healthy tho

No shit nothing is better than a wrong answer. i was simply looking for feedback, comments, not neccessarly a full blown diagnose's with treatement..smh..like i said man back to the subject at hand cause all that really is the least of my worry's right now. We coo tho :joint:

Yea I'll probably stop misting for a while and see what that gets me. As for the 400w being 30 in away...Well I only have two plants so i figured that was enough. I'll def have to invest in a Cool Tube then because of course the goal here is maximum yeild. Thanks for ur advice man i appreciate it

good then :D

if you don't have many plants it would be easier to manage the canopy and lower the light ;)

more light - more yield. closer light - more light. thats the basic - go from there.

Why are you misting 4-5 times a day??????

Because the leaves would feel so dry. Also, it gets pretty hot in my tent, even with the fan.

I understand that the misting is more than likely y problem here. The dryness I was attempting to resolve is caused by my humidty. I wasn't checking it as often as I needed to.
