LED lighting

it's really attractive, with the low power consumption, low heat, and amazing growth without white light. i saw that this full spectrum platform was an fat 400 big ones. i'm sure i can find some led light platforms for around 200 or so, but i was wondering if i made my own. Is anything stopping me? i can get a handful of em for a couple bucks and they're easy as balls to wire. has anyone ever made their own led light platform or know where to get a nice value one? and if you grow with leds already tell me how it is, are you missing out on danks or do they still come in kick ass?

thanks kenwood, i think i'll go ahead and try it. i didn't see those threads thanks for showing them. i was thinking i might try stringing up my own led light since they're so pricey and posting it up here. the led's aren't that expensive, do grasscity and this place have a lot of the same members or something?
