Leds

I got mine on Amazon. I made sure the diodes and specs were top notch, and it was made in the states. Don't recall the brand off top of my head, but it works great.
Would be worth actually giving out the brand or more info. What is top notch? How do you know it was made in the states? Where and by who. Very few if any that actually do this, specially available on amazon is why I think its important.

Long story short, why comment if not adding the basic details of what light?

I have been seeing the led grow lights on amazon do they really work ? What is the best brand ? Are they worthy? Safe?
There's lots of led fixtures on amazon, ranging from el cheapo garbage to primo high-end.

The most important thing is the diodes. Samsung LM301's are the gold standard. Not to say other diodes out there aren't good, but you'd need to do some research. The Samsung's LM301's are a "safe bet" and one of the best. Good drivers are also important. The MeanWell brand is kinda the gold standard of drivers, akin to Samsung LED's.

Avoid "blurples." They're easy to identify because the light they give off is very purple-ish. Often they have an enclosure with fans so they're pretty easily identified (good LED fixtures usually don't have fans, and the board or bar they are on acts a heat sink).

Pay attention to actual wattage at the wall. A lot of the cheap chinese manufactures, especially of blurples, advertise 1000W or something like that, when really the power draw is far, far less. The only meaningful power measurement is at the wall, so you need to check the product details closely to find the actual wattage. However if you're buying from one of the reputable, well-known manufactures, this isn't an issue. More so this about avoiding the cheap crap.

Brands on Amazon I would recommend:
  • HLG
  • SpiderFarmer
  • ViparSpectra
  • MarsHydo
There are certainly others, but start off looking at those brands to point you in the right direction.

Fair statement and question. Just back home and looked at a post from 2021. Sonofarm is the company, samsung 301 diodes and meanwhile driver. I got the 4000 qb panel. Can be daisy chained if I need to expand. Ended up costing me I think about $450 back in 2021. If i would do it again I would go with bars over a panel.

There are 100s of fantastic ones and 100s of garbage ones.

Just don't believe reviews, post anything your considering on here with details about your goals

I'd generally only buy stuff like lights from established local or online grow/hydro shops.

Reason being as they will probably have put a bit of thought into what lights they stock, where as if you start your search with Amazon or whatever, as above, there will be a lot of crap to wade through if you dont really know what you are looking at.

I have been using viparspectra for a few years both the ks and xs series are good budget friendly lights. And yes they definately work. They seem to be the best of the main budget lights available but i could be wrong as there are alot of companies reeling in people who want to grow their own.

viparspectra have good samsung diodes and meanwell drivers so you can trust they will be reliable low heat and very easy to use. I have upgraded to set up a 4x4 but ill keep using my vipars till they expire.i recomend a bar style fixture for even coverage in the space being used. Good luck and beware youll start with one light and before you know it you will have more and more lol
