Legal 1000watt 12 plant multistrain grow - flowering.

Hey all, This is my first grow journal as I just became legal :) However this is not my first grow. I have had several succesfull grows in a 400watt growbox. Now I've stepped it up to a 1000watt.

Now on to the details...

1000 watt hps with 6" valueline centr. fan with a 6" air cooled hood

4x4x6 plywood growbox painted flat white. I don't have a light tight area and can't build a room so the box in a garage is my only option. The passive air intake is just above the top of the grow bags so it will provide airflow through and under the canopy.

The strains are White Widow, Cheese, Himalya Gold and Afgan Kush. I have 4 large mother plants (20" high started june 1st) and 8 four week old clones. None of the clones from the Himalya Gold thrived so I just got rid of them. I have had problems with that plant since it was a seedling.

All the plants are in 5 gal growbags. The soil is FFOF mix 50/50 with sphangus peat moss. Nutes are the Fox Farm trio, Grow Big, Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom. Lime was added to the soil mix at the begining and I will also be using molasses during flower.

The clones were transplanted into 5 gal bags on August 3rd and the grow was switched to 12/12 on August 12th.

I will be updating frequently and I do appreciate comments, feedback and advice.

Now on with the Show.......... :weed:

The Afgan Kush and White Widow are starting to flower as of this morning and the clones have doubled in size in just one week.

Tonight I'm going to give it one last feeding of Grow Big and then it's on to Tiger Bloom and Big Bloom.

I'll get some pics up as soon as everything is flowering, should be by the end of the week.

Thanks for the kind words... This is my first grow with the 1000. I've been using a 400 hps for my last few grows and loved it but now that I'm legal and don't have to worry about stealth so much so I figured I'd go bigger. I'm already planning my 2000 watt room. Hope to have it ready by the time these finish. I'll be allowed 24 mature and 24 imature plants by then

I've had a few successful grows using just cfl's. Why are you stuck using just cfls? I started w/ a 150 hps and it isn't that much hotter than a bunch of cfls...

Everything is flowering now. The big plants are now 26" tall (6" growth since 8/12) and the clones have really filled out and shot up to 18" from 10". I'll have some pics soon....

Found a hermi last night :( It was my big White Widow mother. The clones don't have any balls but I'm keeping an eye on them. I picked off all the male flowers and I'm going to get Dutch Masters Reverse and spray it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I also started a bug treatment this morning with Fox Farms bug spray. Every 5 days at lights out for 3 weeks. It's not a bad infestation just a precaution because I saw some nats and what look like spider mites.

Everything else is healthy and the buds are starting to take off. All of the strains are in full flower and huge. The large plants have shot up to 33". I'll take some pics tonight......

I took these this moring before lights out at 8am. Everything is doing great.

I still haven't decided what to do w/ the white widow mother that hermied slightly. There have only been a few bannanas since I first discovered them. I inspect it every day and take off the few I find. The clones have shown now sign of hermi. I'd love to hear any opinions on what you would do w/ it.

The large plant in the far left corner is a Himalaya Gold. It was the same size as the other mother plants when I placed it in flower but is towering a foot above the others. None of the clones trived so this is the only himalaya that I have. I'll post pics of the HG and Cheese in the next few days. :bigjoint:

Tonight I feed the 4 large mother plants a mix of 1tbl molasses, 2tbl big bloom, 1 tsp tiger bloom, and 1/2 tsp grow big. About 48 oz's each plant. I added a 1/4 dose of the grow big because I noticed some yellowing of the lower leaves.

Anyway here are the pics of the Cheese and Himalaya Gold if anyone is looking :)

One of my white widow clones just hermied. Only one male flower. So far I've only had to pick off a few flowers every few days on the large white widow. I'm still undecided on what to do with her and now the clone. The thing is the mother is huge with multiple colas and it's a strong plant. I'm hoping for at least 2.5 oz's from her at the very least. Any opinions would be appreciated....

It's day was day 28 and all the buds are starting to put on weight nicely. I haven't had any male flowers on my widows for over a week.

They are getting fed about once every 8 days or so which is every other watering with a full dose of Tiger Bloom, Big Bloom and 1 TBS of molasses.

I have a spider mite problem that hopefully is gone soon. I have been treating every 5 days with Don't Bug Me spray at lights out. I missed once and now they are back. I'm bombing the whole garage on sunday after I clean it all down on saturday. I'll bomb it again in a week and then hopefully that will end the problem or at least control it for the next 4 weeks.

Here's this weeks pic update

Here are a few pics I took this morning at lights out. I bombed the grow box and garage that it's in this morning with Pyrethrum TR Fogger. I'm going to bomb it again on Friday and then it's going to be Don't bug me spray from fox farms for the rest of the grow. Hopefully this takes care of the probem.

Well here are the pics from this morning. The buds are starting to get frosty:weed:

The bud in the last pic is a White Widow...

Five weeks and everything is looking great. Still no sign of spider mites after bombing the garage on sunday. I'll be spraying the plants on friday with Don't Bug Me to get any young mites that may have hatched after the bomb.

Wednsday was the last time the Afgan Kush will be feed. They are a 45 to 55 day strain and will be coming down somewhere around the 30th of Sept. All the other strains are 8 to 9 week strains and will be coming down around the 15th of October.

Well here's the new pics....

It's getting to the end. About 1 1/2 weeks for the afgan kush and 3 weeks or so for the White Widow, Cheese and Himalaya Gold. Everything is fattening up nicely :blsmoke:

I sprayed for mites on wednsday and turned off all the fans for the dark period and 12 hrs later the humidity was 85% (it's usually about 60%) and a small spot of mold on one of the white widow colas. Not a big problem but something I'll have to watch.

It's been 7 long weeks since switching the lights to 12/12. All the plants showed within a week. So they are officially at 6 weeks on Sept 30th.

The Afgan Kush has about 1 to 2 weeks left. I stopped feeding them about 1 week ago but they are still getting molasses ever other watering. They are frosting up nicely as you can see from the bud shots :blsmoke:

The others are all doing well. The white widows that hermied have some visable seeds but none of the other strains seem to have any. I don't think I will ever keep a hermi again. To much risk to the rest of the crop. Luckily nothing happened but it could have been bad. Lesson learned...

The Himalaya gold, white widow and cheese are about 3 weeks from harvest. I'll stop feeding them in a week.

I'm still spraying them for spider mites every 5 or 6 days with Fox Farms "Don't Bug Me" and I have been able to keep them under control. I haven't got rid of them but the damage has been kept to a minimum.

I understand the problem with spider mites lol.... one of my crops i had them and they are a pain

in the ass, all i was able to do was keep them down till the grow was over with, i am

starting my 11th grow this up coming week, i had to stop for a few months b/c i moved and now that

my grow room is set up in my new house i am ready to roll, i am also gonna be growing 3 himalaya

gold along with 3 lemon skunk, 2 bug bang, 2 the church , 2 White Widow, 2 Hawaiian Snow and i

am also gonna give the lowryder strain a try just for fun, i am gonna be doing the automatic

blueberry: Blueberry x Lowryder and blue ryder: masterlow x blueberry mix and easy ryder: ak47 x

lowryder#2.

I hope the lowryder strain does well but eitherway it will be fun watching them skip the veg stage

and go right from seeds to flowering.

Anyways keep us inform on your weight and etc, i will be starting a grow like i said this up coming

week and i will be posting it on here so everyone can keep track and help or ask questions etc on the

Harvested at the end of October.. My camera broke towards the end but I ended up controling the mites till the end. The total harvest was 12 1/2 oz. Not bad but not the 1LB I was hoping for...

I like it!!!sweet setup man!I myself am third week of flower with some WW for my first grow so it's nice to see that bulky one you got there...puts a smile on ma face,Mine look like nice trees like yours!!I had to veg them for around 12 weeks (unforeseen circumstances) so now they are HUGE at 3rd flower week. It's the diligence and passion of you seasoned growers that keeps it interesting for the newbies...Kudos!!!

This looked very nice. Seemed like a very intelligent (and legal) grow!

I wonder what the electric bill is on a 1000k? Let alone a 2000k?
