Lesson Learned!

First time grower and learned a valuable lesson today. Woke up to my 4 girls having about 10 broken branches. A couple of things I failed to do, not by choice but by ignorance...

1.) I didn’t keep a fan on my girls from young. Growing outdoor hydro, I assumed the wind would strengthen the girls limbs enough to support the heavy weight of buds. - Wrong

2.) I started to notice the limbs getting really heavy so I decided to use these round plastic clips (picture below and run string to the plastic ring around the main stem high up. Well it rained last night and the added weight took that plastic and pulled it down hard enough to just strip the branches from the main stock...

3.) Probably the most important lesson, I didn’t train my plants in any way, just let them go and tried supporting their weight (with the exception of #2). This might have costed me as I see the top bud sites are larger than the rest (although not by a lot). I might could have got more large colas training them properly, so all bud sites got the most amount of natural light possible... - Live and learn.

Well In the end it wasn’t catastrophic as I was able to tape the broken limps back and then put a net around them to support the load. Hopefully those recover as I think I am about 3 weeks from harvest...

The small girl is a result of my first cloning attempt, she is small but she is adding to yield so happy with that for the most part...

Anything I missed? That is obvious from the pictures?

Happy gardening!
