Light Baffle Design

Does anyone have any specifications regarding the design of effective light baffles?

I need to build one that will provide sufficient air to a grow cab (3 ft deep x 4.5 ft wide x 5.5 ft tall) using an 8-bulb T5 HO lighting setup. I'm planning on 4 to 6 plants, LST etc...)

I don't fully understand the question here, so if I'm way off base - sorry.

Are you simply looking to conceal the light?

Yes. Specifically, I'm looking to light seal my cab. The only place light is coming in is via the passive air intake hole at the bottom of the cab. I need to install a light baffle to 100% prevent light from coming in while allowing air to freely flow into the cab.

Dryer vent maybe? Angle it down/up? Black out the inside of it so it no longer reflects anything.

I'll share what I did to resolve my light leaks on the vents. I installed a through the wall exhaust fan from my grow space into my master bathroom. The problem was, the LED lighting was coming through into the bathroom and at lights off, the bathroom light would leak into the grow space. I gave it some thought and someone made a suggestion to use charcoal filter fabric to block the light. The pictures below should clear up any confusion.

The last pic is from the inside of the grow room with all the bathroom lights on. As you can see, no light is coming through and air is passing easily through the vent fan.

You can make a simple light baffle with some cardboard and foam...

Or use some dryer vent hosing...have it curve around at about a 180d angle and maybe point it down/away from your lights...Worked for me.

Just be sure to put some screen/hepa fabric in it so no dust/bugs can get in.
