Light mover owners please help.

Thanks for posting about this panhead! I was laying under my plants last night wondering about light movers. Can't wait to hear responses. Thanks for the link also!
 
why panhead thats MY light mover. do you recall me wanting one so bad... well I just LOVE it...
it is a little louder then i expected but perhaps cuz the fan lordblunts recomended is sooooooooooooo quiet I got spoiled. BUT trust me what a differance a mover can make

Excellent,thank you,thats exactly the feedback i was looking for,i asked the seller for a volume discount,if he gives up a discount im buying 4 of them asap.

but mr. panhead.... why don't you get two heavy duty ones... and then do like filthy fletch did. you would have a better more heavy duty system for less the cost of 4??? if i am understanding you.

Yup I took a single chain driven light mover on a 7 foot rail most come now as 6 foot rail with add ons that come in 1,3, and 6 foot extensions if you need them.There are kits that allow you to add a second rail and an extension bar for some so you can move a few lights with one motor but for the chain drive one I had I just mad a cross bar tandem carrier thats about 6 feet wide and then used 2 identival lights and ballanced them so 1 rail moves 2 lights so I can cover the whole 8x8 room fairly nice. I got mine used for $45 on ebay. You can get a new one on ebay with chain drive for about $9o or the better new version no chain intelidrive 3,0 light movers for about $250 they run smoother and you can set how long they take to go back and forth no chains either.They make life easy and expand your coverage and are very reliable and easy to set up. Screw it to the ciling clip the lights on hang the cord and plug in..Ill post some pics when I get a chance to snap some again.I have some up in other posts if you wanna search my started threads
 
i have an agramover from ebay that makes zero noise. with 2- 600 watt lights, i can adjust the distance between the two with a turn of a screw. and they use super sturdy thick aluminum rails. i dont know how long the fan setup will last, but i hope it works ok for the time being. :idea: im glad i dont have to deal with ducting in the garden. aircooled hoods are the sheezy.

and the best part about it? you dont need to duct to the lights!!!! the light spins so fast that the heat doesnt stay or build up enough to be hot, because of the constant movement!!!!!
 
i like this idea. im planning a larger room 12x12 and i was concerned about the electricity for 4 1000w or 6 600w but i may be able to do 4 600w or 2 1000w. more research...

No need to search,i remember the thread very well,after reading your thread & seeing how you set up the single light mover to run both the lights i started thinking of light movers for myself,that was a damm good idea & i committed that shit to mermory,i will be duplicating your idea when the movers arrive this week.

Fletch had a hell of an idea,i remember the pics of his mover only his lights are side by side instead of all in a single row,fletch's side by side method will be better for my area.

I talked with the salesman on the phone & he assured me that these movers will be able to easily handel 20lbs of weight so my plan was to take 2 light movers,then use fletch's design & run 2 1,000 watters side by side using 2 movers,the other 2 light movers will be running 400 watters in the side by side fashion.

I talked to the salesman about the heavy duty models & explained my application & he assured me that they are more than capable.

My room is tore down right now awaiting supplies,im all done with soil,im going ebb & flow,my harvest was good enough where i have enough smoke to last while i take a few months to rebuild the room the right way,the only things i got right last time were ventilation & power supply,this time around im taking my time.
