Quick question RIU.
I was going to start my seeds in straight light warrior. is this ok I havent used it before. If i start my seed in a 16 oz cup how long Will it veg healthily. I was going to put in either a litte roots or a little bit of wormcastings. Basically I want to know what others use as there first pot before trabsplanting to supersoil. What size and whats in it.
Before i was given this bag of light warrior my seed starting mix was peat moss, vermiculite, perlite and earth worm castings.
After a couple weeks i would put right into roots or happyfrog (or a mix of both) then right into super soil. Thanks RIU crew.:joint:

I have been going from my cups straight to my finishing pots. But my finishing pots are layered with roots on top. My supersoil fills my pot about halfway. And in between the two layers is what i call the transition layer. It is mostly roots with a little super soil mixed in.
I know there's benefits to working your way up by doing three transplants. But i just find it easier to transplant once. Does anyone else do one transplant or is this just stupid.
i also use a kelp tea when i do transplant and my plants dont skip a beat.

I'm more aggressive with my transplants. Others do skip the 2 qt pot. I would still recommend starting in something much smaller that 16oz cups.

What soil mix do you start in? And what size containers? If you dont mind me asking. I like the idea of using sqaure pots until i transplant into final pot. I finish in 15 liter pots indoors.
I usually transplant before the roots take up the whole container of light warrior.. that way i can take some of the soil and mix it with the soil from the container there being transplanted in. If that makes sense
I think i need to go smaller on my seedling pot and bigger on my final pot!
How many transplants is the norm? I know I'll get a hundred different answers on that one. There really is no set container size.

Here's my simple method. First, finishing pot I like to plant 1 gallon soil for 1 months total life of plant. So if I'm going to do a quick veg(2-3 week )on a quick finishing kush 10 weeks flower plus 2 week veg, 12 weeks total. = 3 gallon pot.

I start in root riot plugs. > then 2 cup pots with equal parts perlite, coir and organic bagged soil > then 2qt pots with roots > then final pot 3 ,5 or 7 gallon based on strain and veg ec. That is into my highly amended super soil mychos at all transplant. Roots completely grown through before transplants.
I'm all loopy right now. Had a bit to much fun last night. But that's basic method I've been using to very nice results. What's your flowering soil looking like?

It looks good just straight super soil about half way up my fifteen liter pots. My first run with supersoil i used a little less and top fed more aggressively. I had a white spiderweb lookin fungus over the top and mushrooms were popping up.. That's what I'm going for on this one.. but one of my Lemon kush didn't take to well to the transplant
I use cyco expanded clay pepples I dont use as much perlite as i probabley should but the cyco seems to do the trick. It has smaller perlite size rocks which is why i buy it. I use regular hydroton on the bottom of all my pots for drainage. Then right into the finish pots..From my sixteen oz cup of ammended light warrior.
Im gonna get some plugs and try transplanting up from 2qt from 2 cups.
Then my 15 liter or five gallon.
I use sea kelp at every transplant if i use mycorrhiza should i cut out the kelp? i usually just presoak my soil with an extract.
I also use boogie brew, as an AACT along with a EWC tea but i really dont have a schedule for that. Maybe once a week until second week of flower. I also have a flower tea recipe in my head with boogiebrew and a little high p bat guano added. Havent needed it yet though.
This is my second run with supersoil so any advice is good.

I think with mychos direct root contact is most efficient.
Kelp is great, I like to so aact every other week. And kelp, alfalfa, guano ex only to fix deficiency. Do you top dress with anything? It's good practice to put 1/2 inch Ewc dressing at some point.

I do top dress with EWC usually at least once or twice in veg depending on how long i vedge for. I also use straight EWC tea. Even in small amounts molasses can cause problems. Which is why i switched to the boogie brew.
