now then crew, wots the differance in a 16 hour cycle and a 18 hour cycle, how does it effect the growth ov the plants, is it better starting with the 16 hour cycle 4 the first 3/4 weeks and then change it 2 the 18 hour cycle 4 another 3/4 weeks, or is it just the same. cheers fella's.:lol:

Hey there, I start all of my seedlings and starts with 24 hours of light (lights on means plant intakes energy), after two weeks I change my lighting to 18/6 because the plant can start putting that stored energy to use with a production (dark) cycle. The plant works harder expending it's energy when lights are off so growth is vigorous. After about 4 - 6 weeks of veg (2 weeks of 18/6 light) I change to the standard 12/12 flower light period. This growth schedule is very effective, the plant grows very similar to natural conditions with slow progressions of light change. Hope I could be of some help. Happy Growing

Thanks S&C, I've been finding that the plants I'm throwing into 18/6 after two weeks are developing much more full than the ones I leave in 24/0 until flower. The early dark period really help the plant develop solid structure for flowers. Any way to slightly replicate nature will result positively, it took me some research and trial and error to come up with a winning lighting schedule. Enjoy

Brah, ya dont NEED to do 24 hrs. Ya only need 6 hours of sleep fer veg. Then 12 hours of sleep fer flower. Thats all ya NEED
I edit this remembering that there are too many 12/12 from seed grows, to believe ANYTHING!!! Those grows are lookin GR8!

Heh, well we can't all know what we're meant to do straight from the womb, I'm sure your technique is just fine mate ;-). Although I am interested to know what that strain is in your pic, either very interesting or a nice camera setting ... I will ponder bongsmilie
