Lighting design

So, I'm a little unsure...

I'm just now planning my room, haven't even built it yet, but soon...

I'm planning to use Cap'n's rockwool system, scrogged under a combination of HPS and T5's.

I'm certain I can master the scrog, and end up with a fairly even crop surface, with scrog and topping.

So what is the likely WIDTH that a scrog would be from one plant? I'm willing to take my time with veg growth. I realize this may be dependant on the strain, as well.

I've seen some threads that talk about 3' by 3' and others that recommend 4' by 4'.

What it the best likely width I can manage?

Thanks

I think most people average about 2x2, 2x4, 3x3, 4x4. Sure there are all kind of other sizes, but it really all comes down to your space, lights, and style of growing. Also consider your canopy layout in the room and how big of a person you are. I'm 6' with good reach. I still find it hard to get to corner spots 3' plus from the wall.

Thanks SG... so i think I'll plan for a 3' by 3' scrog and allow another foot on each side for manoeuvring around. I think I'll mount the whole thing on a short wheeled platform, to give me more flexibility as well.

So, assuming a 3' by 3' plant surface, do you guys suggest a 400 W or 600 W HPS? I will also want to "fill in" the sides with some T5's. as noted in another thread.

Space is not a big issue, what I'm looking forward to is two or three of these 3 by 3 modules, each ripening in sequence. But. just gonna do one to start, and see how it goes.

I'd happy to hear any suggestion you may have.

Thanks
