i just plant some seeds about a week ago and have been growing them under a couple cfls. i was wondering if its bad or if it will mess with the plant if i have them just under red spectrum cfls??? they are on a 18/6 lights schedule tho.

Color Temperature (CT) - Color temperature, which is measured in Kelvin, indicates whether a lamp has a warm, midrange or cool color appearance. "Warm" light sources have a low color temperature (2000-3000K) and feature more light in the red/orange/yellow range. Light with a higher color temperature (>5000K) features more blue light and is referred to as "cool."

You can,but to have better results you should use cool white for veg or a combination of warm white and cool white.I use fluorescent tubes with 1 warm and 1 cool for each fixture, same for cfl.
