Lighting Help Please

If I put a 400 watt light next to a 600 watt light do I have the same lumens and penetration as a single 1000 watt light? I need a 1000 watt but don't want to spend the money if my 400 & 600 together will do the same job. I have my doubts though, thats why I'm asking for help. It seems like it might not be any better than just using the 600 by itself? Please Help! Thanks so much!

Oh definitely use the 2 lights, they put out more lumens instead of the big 1000W. Someone will back me up with lumens data.. You can put the 400 and 600w lights closer to the plants than the 1000w for even more penetration

yup, all is correct. That's why you can grow a bunch of cfls if so desired.

2 lights like that will light up a wider area so you get better coverage over the whole grow. But it won't penetrate into the depths of the plants any better.

no, it will not penetrate better. It will just cover the the surface area better. And the 1000W puts out more lumens because it's more efficient than the lower wattage bulbs.
