I have a 54x24x72' workspace,

I have a light system that can support HPS or MH bulbs, right now I have a 600w HPS and 400w MH , planning on using the MH for veg and HPS for flowering

Do you think I should upgrade to a 1000 w HPS bulb? My goal is to get maximum yield...also with this in consideration...how many plants should I have? I have 10 blue mystic seeds (feminized) on the way...and I can actually fit 10 3 gallon pots into the space...but should I use 10 ?

I was thinking about 6 or 7 considering this is my first experience actaully growing alothough i have been around and studied grows for a few years...but if i get a 1000 w bulb should i go with 10?

Please comment :D

thank god for context clues, though u was growing in a warehouse for a second. ' = feet, " = inches... you dont need to have a minimum number of plants to run a certain bulb. you can go 6-7 and be okit jus means u get more room to do what u need to do in there, maxing the area can make it a pain when it comes time to fix a problem.

I would always recommend getting the highest wattage possible for your space. 1000w is the top of the heap. Its where we all end up anyway, might as well just get it now.

1000w will cover up to a 5' x 5' grow area.

I would also recommend growing fewer, larger plants. If you had the ability to grow 4 plants out for a few months before flowering, I would do that. Everyone always grows too many their first time. You will need to move the plants and you will want to be able to get to the ones in back as well. Trying to navigate around flowering plants in a tight space, under an HPS.... not fun.

A big plant will yield the same as several small plants. If youre after turn around and yield, I would look into a perpetual system like a "Sea of Green" You put a group of plants into flower every couple weeks so you have plants ready for harvest every couple weeks.

I would suggest a minimum pot size of 5gal per plant. You could try a cheap DWC setup, Check out my grow for ideas and if you have any questions message me.
