Lighting question???

Do plants do better under 2 lamps vs. 1 (ie. 2 400w HPS instead of 1 1000w hps) The guy at the store said this, but I am new to indoor so I need some help. Thanks!

Also, what do you think gets quicker/ better results for Veg? MH/HPS/or Flurosent? (taller plant/with most branches)

They say 2 400's are better because they want more of your money. the real answer depends on your grow space. If you're just looking to do a closet grow, or just for a couple few plants, the single 1000 will be your best bet. If your trying to light up more space then the 2 400's would be better. As far as Veg goes, I like to use Flourescents because it saves on lighting cost, but if your looking to go balls out the MH is best for Veg. Remember its about lumens. 1000Watts will get about 140K lumens, while a 400 will get you about 55K. Lumens do not add up. The brightest light is the brightest light. Period.
