Lighting question

So i have a couple of plants in flower, only a few weeks in. I used 600w MH for veg, and am currently using 600w HPS for flower. I have read some things about changing the lighting from HPS back to MH towards the end of flower in the last few weeks to promote denser buds. The logic is use HPS to let the buds grow and get fat, and then MH to get them tighter and denser. (MH give dense buds and HPS bigger fluffy nugs). My question is has anyone had any experience with this or tried it. Any input would be great.

use hps all the way thru all mh will do is lose yeild and promote new leaves ;)

If that theory was right then growing fully MH would be known for small but very dense nuggets. It isn't. Total MH has a reputation for small very sloppy loose flowers but they do shine from superior smell and flavor. Not size not density not potency. Just flavor and smell.

I have seen measurable first hand results from using a 1000w hps top light and a 400w MH vertical hung at the center of 4 plants to increase avalible light penetration with an additional bonus of superior wavelength spectrum and increased essential oils. i.e.aroma and tastes closer to outdoors Than we typically expect from indoor grows.
